-----Tootsie Roll Drive 2017----

May 5th and 6th The Tootsie Roll Drive is the largest fundraising

project for the Knights of Columbus of the year. The

proceeds (100%) go to those with intellectual

disabilities. Cardinal Center’s Community Living

Program, Kosciusko County’s Special Olympics, and

Magical Meadows were last year’s recipients. Last

year 132 volunteers from the Knights, Sacred Heart

Church, and CCI raised $22,712.78. We meet at the

garage south of the Parish Office on Lindberg Street

about 10 minutes prior to the start of a shift and will

take volunteers for any amount of time that can be

donated. Suggested shift times are listed below and

we will work with whatever time you have. We

typically collect the most on the Friday evening shift

and have the hardest time getting help on Saturday

afternoon. Street shifts are the most profitable due to

the traffic flow and you must have a valid driver’s

license to collect on the street. Feel free to call Steve

Sudhoff (267-6061) to sign up for a shift or catch the

display in the foyer and sign up after Masses on the

last two weekends in April. Thanks for your

consideration in affording your time to help someone

else on May 5/6.

Street/Store Suggested Shifts:

Friday and Saturday 9:00-12:00

Friday and Saturday 12:00-3:00

Friday 3:00-6:30

Alleluia ~ Alleluia We welcome the following for whom this Easter season holds special meaning as they were received into full communion with the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil. We thank God who continues to bless us through their faith and spirit. Welcome to…

From the Pastor

This weekend, the Second Sunday of Easter, we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday. This is one of the newer celebrations on the liturgical calendar; it was instituted during the papacy of St. John Paul II. To honor this day we are having a Holy Hour this Sunday afternoon from 3-4pm. Fr. Chuck from Pierceton will be here to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation during that hour. Let’s fill the church to be with our Blessed Lord in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.

Thank you to CRHP Teams 4, 5 and 6 for hosting our most recent Sacred Heart Community Meal. Your gifts of time and talent were appreciated. Also, thanks to all of you who supplied brownies for the dessert. Our next SHCM will be held Tuesday, May 16 from 5:30-7pm. All are invited.

This Monday, April 24, we will have a group of parishioners traveling to Redeemer Radio in South Bend. Sacred Heart will be featured from 2-3pm in the Spring Sharathon. Redeemer Radio is found at 95.7FM on your radio dial. Won’t you please consider making a pledge in the name of Sacred Heart Church and School to this Spring Sharathon? Redeemer Radio does so much good in our area by spreading the good news of Jesus and the beauties of our Catholic faith.

Operation Rice Bowl: Please return your Rice Bowls to the Gathering Space anytime between April 22 and May 7. Thanks to all of you who made Rice Bowl a part of your Lenten practice of almsgiving.

Highlighted for this Week: The Saving Power of Divine Mercy by Fr. Jason Brooks, LC. Pope John Paul II said that Divine Mercy is THE message for the third millennium and God’s gift to our time. There is nothing that mankind needs more than Christ’s Divine Mercy. To help us avail ourselves of that loving Mercy, Fr. Brooks focuses on what we know of God’s Mercy, our response to His Love, how we can become merciful to others, and how to become apostles of mercy.

All are invited to celebrate The Feast of Divine Mercy

Sunday, April 23, 2017, from 3:00pm – 4:00pm The feast will be celebrated with Exposition of the Blessed

Sacrament, and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

The Sacrament of Penance will be available during the Prayer Service. There are special graces to be received

on Divine Mercy Sunday.
