COACH FOR UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS LEARNING COLLABORATIVE The Underserved Project Learning Collaborative (UPLC) is a partnership between the Action Alliance, the Virginia Department of Social Services, the Department of Criminal Justice Services and community sexual and domestic violence agencies which seek to build their capacity to provide culturally responsive and trauma-informed services and programs to populations in their communities who are not currently being served or who are inadequately served. We’re looking for: An experienced social justice advocate who has engaged in deep reflection, meaningful partnerships and substantial growth as they have learned to apply the values of ending oppression to the day-to-day tasks of helping people. The ideal candidate will be well versed in applying a trauma-informed model of advocacy to work with sexual and domestic violence survivors, will be able to articulate anti-oppression and social justice principles as they relate to addressing and preventing gender-based violence, and will have experience working within/partnering with underserved communities. The position requires 3-5 years of directly-related experience. We are seeking someone who can facilitate an engaging process, teach compli- cated concepts, model the process of continuous reflection and learning, and partner respectfully with individuals from diverse agencies and communities. This position requires regular and significant travel. The starting salary range for this position is $48-53,000/year.
