*Call to Worship from I Timothy 1:17

Minister: Let us praise our God and King!

People: To the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever!

*Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise

Immortal, invisible, God only wise, In light inaccessible hid from our eyes, Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, Almighty, victorious, thy great name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might; Thy justice like mountains high soaring above Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.

Great Father of glory, pure Father of light, Thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight; All praise we would render; O help us to see 'Tis only the splendor of light hideth thee!

Music: JOANNA, Traditional Welsh hymnLyrics: Walter Chalmers Smith

*Prayer of Adoration

*Affirmation of Faith Westminster Shorter Catechism, Questions 1 & 2

Minister: What is the chief end of man?

People: Man’s chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy him forever.

Minister: What rule has God given to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy him?

People: The Word of God, which is contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, is the only rule to di-rect us how we may glorify and enjoy him.

*10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)

Chorus: Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul, worship his holy name. Sing like never before. O my soul, worship his holy name!

The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning; It's time to sing your song again. Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me, Let me be singing when the evening comes. (Chorus)

You're rich in love and you're slow to anger. Your name is great and your heart is kind. For all your goodness I will keep on singing – Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find. (Chorus)

And on that day when my strength is failing, The end draws near and my time has come. Still my soul will sing your praise unending – Ten thousand years and then forevermore. (Chorus)

Worship his holy name. Yes, I’ll worship his holy name.

Prayer for Christ’s Church and the World

The Lord Is Good

Let us walk in humility. Let us serve one another patiently. Let us love our neighbor And our enemies as the Lord has loved you and me.

Let us enter into suffering. Let us hold one another in our grief. Let us not forget the song we sing. He is good even when we cannot see.

(Chorus) The Lord is good, the Lord is good. He may not be safe, but he is good. The Lord is just, the Lord is kind. The Lord is wrath and love at the same time.

The Lord will rule just as he should, the Lord is good.

Let us lift up holy hands though we may not understand; Every wound we bear and every doubt we have Of a God who’s both a Lion and a Lamb.

Let us lift our eyes and see a God who suffers willingly; A King who enters into our sorrow and our grief, A shepherd who never leaves his sheep. (Chorus 2x)

Music & Lyrics: Joe Deegan

Prayer of Confession

Eternal God, we confess that often we have failed to be obedient: we have not done your will;we have broken your law;we have rebelled against your love; we have not loved you with our whole hearts; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves;Forgive us, we pray.Free us for joyful obedience.Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

*Words of Assurance Ezekiel 36:24-28

Minister: “I will take you out of the nations;I will gather you from all the countries.I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

People: “I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees. You will be my people, and I will be your God.”

Minister: Friends in Christ: by the power of the Spirit,we are united with Christ and given a new spirit. Live in the joy and peace of that assurance.

*All Things New

Come broken and weary, come battered and bruised; My Jesus makes all things new, all things new.

Come lost and abandoned, come blown by the wind; He’ll bring you back home again, home again.

Rise up, O you sleeper, awake. The light of the dawn is upon you. Rise up, O you sleeper, awake. He makes all things new, all things new.

Come frozen with shame, come burning with guilt; My Jesus, he loves you still, he loves you still.

Rise up, O you sleeper, awake. The light of the dawn is upon you. Rise up, O you sleeper, awake. He makes all things new, he makes all things new.

The world was good, the world is fallen, the world will be redeemed; The world was good, the world is fallen, the world will be redeemed;

So hold on to the promise; The stories are true that Jesus makes all things new.

Rise up, O you sleeper, awake. The light of the dawn is upon you. Rise up, O you sleeper, awake. He makes all things new. (Repeat)

He makes all things new, all things new, All things new; he makes all things new.

Music & Lyrics: Andrew Peterson, Andy Gullahorn, and Ben Shive

The Sermon “On Incarnation”

*Be Thou My Vision

Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart; Naught be all else to me, save that thou art– Thou my best thought, by day or by night, Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.

Be thou my wisdom, and thou my true word; I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord; Thou my great Father, I thy true Son; Thou in me dwelling, and I with thee one.

Be thou my battle shield, sword for my fight; Be thou my dignity, thou my delight, Thou my soul's shelter, thou my high tow'r; Raise thou me heav'nward, O Pow'r of my pow'r.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise, Thou mine inheritance, now and always: Thou and thou only, first in my heart, High King of Heaven, my treasure thou art.

High King of heaven, my victory won, May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heav'n's Sun! Heart of my own heart, whatever befall, Still be my vision, O Ruler of all. (Repeat)
