NOVEMBER 1 – 2 REGINA, SK CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS Have you or your organization developed an innovative approach or a practical solution that advances green building and helps us to understand community development, green buildings, LEED and technological advances in building design, construction and operation? Here’s your chance to showcase your work! BUILD SASK GREEN 2017 is a conference and networking event that advances the design, construction and operation of greener buildings in Saskatchewan. BUILD SASK GREEN 2017 will be held on November 2, 2017 at the Double Tree by Hilton in Regina, Saskatchewan. This popular annual conference attracts professionals in the green building sector including architects, engineers, designers, policy makers, and students. In 2017, the BUILD SASK GREEN Conference will offer attendees current and relevant content on the optimization of performance and operation of existing buildings and sustainable land use planning in two streams. The Existing Buildings stream looks at carbon performance as a key metric in place of energy performance and energy conservation measures that demonstrably lead to carbon savings, such as re-commissioning to optimize the performance and operation of an existing building’s system and deep energy retrofits to reduce energy consumption significantly. The Urban Planning stream will explore creative green building solutions designed to meet the challenges of urbanization, including the sustainable development and use of land, planning permission, protection and use of the environment, and design strategies to balance science, aesthetics and community interests in the planning of healthy urban environments. OPPORTUNITY The BUILD SASK GREEN 2017 organizing committee is looking for abstracts that feature project profiles and construction best practices that address the green building continuum from residential to commercial and industrial projects. BUILD SASK GREEN 2017 has opportunities for presenters during conference program sessions. Session presentations of either 25 minutes or 55 minutes are available. Some sessions would include multiple panel presentations and a Question and Answer component. Depending on the abstracts received the committee may create your presentation group. You may submit as many abstracts as you wish.
