Call for Papers

Dear Colleagues, we are pleased to invite you to the 9h International Conference on Applied Economics – Contemporary Issues in Economy, which is hosted by The Department of Economics at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland). The conference is especially addressed to economist from all European Union countries and Eastern Europe. The papers in economics, finance, and business management are highly encouraged. Main conference fields include:

1. Macroeconomics; Microeconomics; Econometrics; International Economics; 2. Financial markets; Labour markets; Institutions; 3. Business environment; Management and Marketing.

The Conference Proceedings will be sent to the CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS CITATION INDEX – SOCIAL SCIENCE & HUMANITIES (THE T HOMSON REUTERS ISI INDEX). If they receive acceptance, they will be available in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection database. After the conference all long articles will be considered for publication in one of the following reviewed academic journals: Equilibrium. Quarterly Journal of Economics and Economic Policy (http://economic-policy.pl/) – (14 points assigned by Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education), under evaluation for SCOPUS. Indexed in Web of Science TM Core Collection – Thomson Reuters Oeconomia Copernicana (http://oeconomia.pl/) – (11 points). Under evaluation for SCOPUS. Indexed in Web of Science TM Core Collection – Thomson Reuters. Economics and Sociology (http://www.economics-sociology.eu/) – (15 points). Indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science TM Core Collection – Thomson Reuters. Journal of International Studies (http://www.jois.eu/) – (11 points). Under evaluation for Web of ScienceTM Core Collection – Thomson Reuters. Indexed in SCOPUS. The detailed information on publication opportunities and conference participation tracks (submissions of short papers for Proceedings and long papers for journals) is available at the conference website (http://contemporary-issues.pl/).

All accepted conference papers (short articles) will be published in Conference Proceedings supplied with ISBN number. The conference book will include abstract of the papers with Conference CD including Conference Proceedings with full papers. Beside Conference Proceedings all the submitted short papers will be included in Institute of Economic Research Working Papers indexed in RePEc EconPapers-Working Papers, Google Scholar. The Conference Proceedings will be indexed in RePEc and Google Scholar. The Conference Proceedings will be distributed to all participants during the conference. All long papers will be reviewed for the publication in journals following their normal review criteria. The acceptance of a paper for the conference is not a guarantee of publication in the journals. Conference Organizers The conference is organized in collaboration with Polish Economic Society, Institute of Economic Research and Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic), Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology (Greece), Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Hungary), Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), Pablo de Olavide University (Spain), University of Economics in Bratislava (Slovakia). Slovak Society for Operations Research and European Regional Science Association. Polish Section are international scientific institutional partners of the conference.

Registration and Conference Fee

We ask participants to register for the conference: 15th December 2016 – deadline for early online registration 15th February 2017 – deadline for late online registration In case of positive reviews and good cooperation with the authors, early registration participants who submit long papers for journals will have the opportunity to have their papers published before the conference in the journals Equilibrium. Quarterly Journal of Economics, and Economic Policy 2017, 12(1), 12(2) or Oeconomia Copernicana 2017, 8(1), 8(2). However, due to the process of reviewing, the organizers do not guarantee all the texts the publication before the conference.

Registration form is available on-line in the conference website. In addition the authors should send printed and signed copyrights declaration via regular mail that is available in the download section. It should be sent to: Adam Balcerzak, Katedra Ekonomii, Wydział Nauk Ekonomicznych i Zarządzania, Uniwersytet Mikołaja Kopernika, ul. Gagarina 13A, 87-100 Toruń, Poland. The participation fee of 990 PLN (Polish participants) or 200 Euros (non-Polish participants) is payable by 30th December 2016 (early registration), 15th March 2017 (late registration) by means of bank transfer to the Institute of Economic Research bank account. There is one conference fee for all conference tracks (submissions of short papers for Proceedings and long papers for journals). Accommodation, transportation to Toruń and any other costs are excluded from the participation fee. After that date, participation is possible at a walk-in participation fee, payable in cash on site during conference registration. Details for the bank transfer of participation fee – Pro Forma invoice will be sent to every participant with the notification of abstract acceptance.

Notification of Abstract Acceptance and Paper Submission Deadlines Notification of acceptance – 18th December 2016 (early registration), 1th March 2017 (late registration). The papers should be submitted by 15th January 2017 (early registration) or 30th March 2017 (late registration) electronically (MS Word) by e-mail titled “Conference” to [email protected]. All Papers Must Meet the Conference Formatting Criteria

Specific formatting criteria and template are available at conference website (“download materials”). We strongly encourage all participants to prepare their papers in the template. The papers that do not meet the conference formatting criteria will not be included in the Conference book, and will not be considered in the reviewing process for publications prepared after the conference. Important Dates Deadlines for online registration: 15th December 2016 (early registration), 15th February 2017 (late registration) Deadline for bank payment: 30th December 2016 (early registration), 15th March 2017 (late registration), possible walk-in participation fee Deadline for paper submission: 15th January 2017 (early registration), 30th March 2017 (late registration) Conference: 22-23 June 2017 Program Outline The conference venue will be The Faculty of Economics and Management at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (ul. Gagarina 13A; 87-100 Toruń). The conference will begin in the morning of Thursday, with a plenary session at about 10 a.m., followed by parallel sessions until about 4 or 5 p.m. The day will end with a tour around the old town and Conference Dinner. Friday will be devoted to parallel sessions until from 10 a.m. to about 3 or 4 p.m. All the above events plus lunch and coffee-breaks on both conference days, as well as conference publication with the Conference CD, are included in the participation fee. Accommodation, transportation to Toruń and any other costs are excluded from the participation fee.
