CALL FOR APPLICATION IRANIAN STUDIES VISITING FELLOWSHIPS AT THE SORBONNE NOUVELLE GENERAL INFORMATION Visiting Fellowships in Iranian Studies are offered at the University Sorbonne Nouvelle with the support of the research unit «Mondes iranien et indien» (UMR 7528), the Soudavar Memorial Foundation and the Iran Heritage Foundation. The positions are open to promising young and outstanding senior scholars from any country whose research focuses on Iran as well on the Persianate cultures of Central and South Asia, including Afghanistan. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF FELLOWSHIPS Each Visiting Fellowship is for a period of 1 month. Three Fellowships will be available during the year 2013: Two Fellowships funded by the Soudavar Memorial Foundation. One Fellowship funded by the Iran Heritage Foundation. The fellowships do not offer a salary but they offer a contribution to travel and living expenses in Paris. - Contribution to travel expenses to Paris and to living expenses in Paris: the Visiting Fellow will receive a reimbursement up to 1500. - Fellows will be offered an office space located in central Paris in the building of the Sorbonne Nouvelle and access to the BULAC Library (Bibliothèque Universitaire des Langues et civilisations). Fellowships are tenable from February to June 2013 and during October and November 2013. Visiting Fellows will be asked to deliver one or two lectures at the Sorbonne Nouvelle on their research project. Applicants must indicate the topics of lectures in their research proposal. Fellows must submit a report of their work at the end of the fellowship.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Visiting Fellowships in Iranian Studies are offered at the University Sorbonne Nouvelle with

the support of the research unit «Mondes iranien et indien» (UMR 7528), the Soudavar

Memorial Foundation and the Iran Heritage Foundation. The positions are open to promising

young and outstanding senior scholars from any country whose research focuses on Iran as

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Complete applications should be submitted by 15th September 2012. Applications are examined

by a selection committee.

Scholars interested to apply are invited to submit the following:

- An application form

- A research proposal of maximum three pages.

- A curriculum vitae with a list of publications

- Two writing samples (published or unpublished)

Post-doctoral applicants should also provide one letter of recommendation. The letters should

be sent directly to the selection committee.
