CALL FOR ADDITIONAL WORKSHOP & PRESENTATION PROPOSALS MASSACHUSETTS ASSOCIATION OF CONSERVATION COMMISSIONS ANNUAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCE 2018 Saturday, March 3, 2018 The College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions (MACC) is accepting proposals for environmental workshops and presentations for our spring environmental conference on March 3, 2018. We are teaming with other environmental groups to bring new workshops for 2018. Please consider sending proposals related to the following topics (or other topics of interest): Case Studies: Tell us about an interesting case study and how your work intersects with conservation commissions. Linear permitting projects, environmental remediation in wetlands, dam removals, trends in mapping, working in riverfront areas, energy infrastructure, stormwater treatment and management, etc. Flooding and Climate Change: How has your community assessed the impact of flooding (coastal or inland)? What are you doing about it? Innovative Technology related to wetlands mapping, mitigation, database management, remediation. Changes your organization would like to see in current Regulations and Guidance Documents pertinent to conservation commissions. Open space management, monitoring conservation restrictions, forestry issues, wildlife habitats, stormwater runoff, and enforcement issues. WORKSHOPS/PRESENTATIONS. Annual Environmental Conference will have three sessions during the day, with seven or eight workshops (presentations) in each session. Workshops are 90 minutes in length, or 180 minutes for a two-session workshop. Workshops include at least 15 minutes for questions/discussion. Submit your abstract using the attached form no later than OCTOBER 27, 2017. Include: Title and Abstract. Provide a concise description of no more than four sentences that describes content, format, and specific relevance to conservation commissions.
