Ethics and Philosophy of Emerging Medical
Technologies
Conference organised by the European Society for
Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare (ESPMH), the
European Association of Centres of Medical Ethics
(EACME) and the Institut Borja de Bio"etica, Universi-
tat Ramon Llull, Barcelona, Spain.
The focus of the conference is on ethical and
philosophical issues in relation to emerging medical
technologies; Abstracts addressing the ethical and
philosophical dimensions of the following topics can
be submitted:

Confidentiality and Technology: ethical and legal
rights and duties
Responsibility for Future Generations
Sustainability
Cloning
Germ Line Interventions
Bioelectronics
Interventions in Biological Aging

The program of the conference includes plenary
sessions as well as parallel sessions. Persons wishing to
present papers at the conference are invited to submit an
abstract addressing the ethical and philosophical dimen-
sions of the conference topics (500 words maximum)
before December 1, 2004. Papers will be selected from
the abstracts by the Conference Program Committee.
