Catalogue Description MU 309 Arranging I (2 units) Techniques of arranging: modifying existing compositions for concert band, jazz band,
orchestra, small and large instrumental and vocal ensembles. 2 units, lecture. Prerequisite: MU 120 or consent of instructor
II. Required Background or Experience MU 120 or consent of instructor. Ability to understand chord symbols and basic song structure. III. Expected Outcomes
Student will be able to score and arrange piano sheet music or choral score for other media to include:
1. Studio Orchestra of Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion and Strings 2. Concert band, Marching Band and Varsity Band 3.
