Graduate Equity Fellowship grants range from $500 to $2,000 per year. This program seeks to increase the diversity of students completing graduate degree programs in the CSU, encourages continuation toward doctoral programs, and promotes consideration of university faculty careers. It provides fellowships for economically disadvantaged CSU students who have had success in overcoming educational disadvantages and promotes faculty mentoring and research opportunities. An applicant must • be a legal California resident; international students are not eligible to apply;

• be admitted to Fresno State & to a master's program as a conditionally or classified student;

• complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA);

• have financial need of at least $1,000; Must provide financial aid print out

• enroll in a minimum of six units per semester applicable to the master's degree; and

• demonstrate potential to succeed in graduate school & complete degree program in two years

Demonstrated by:

• undergraduate coursework, and

• one letter of recommendation (must be from student's graduate program coordinator)

Upon awarding of the fellowship

• Recipients must become fully classified and advanced to candidacy as soon as possible

• Recipients must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0;

• Recipients' total number of units may not exceed the total for their respective graduate degree

• Recipients may reapply for a second year of funding;

• Recipients must engage in a mentored research activity for 5 to 15 hours per week
