OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION: 1. Caltrans proposes to place approximately

1,000 cubic yards of ungrouted 1/2-ton rock slope protection below the high water mark along an area 700 feet in length, extending northwesterly from the northwesterly end of the existing easement, PRC 333.9.

2. This right of entry is required in order ta meet contractual obligations. A revision to the existing easement authorized by the State Lands Commission on September 19, A 1947 is being prepared in the form of a 'i(fJfl 101.S permit.

3. Based upon an examination of the project, as proposed, Caltrans Environmental Branch has determined that the project is categorically exempt. Class 1, Section 1510.1 of Caltrans Environmental Regulations.

4. The United States Army Corp of Engineers has circulated this project for public comment and has prepared a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), attached as Exhibit 11 C11 •

The California Department of Fish and Game has issued a Streambed Alteration Agreement 116-89 which includes the follo~ing recommendations for streambank stabilization work:

a. All work in or near the stream shall be confined to the period of June 1 through October 15;

b. Work shall be done in such a manner so as to minimize siltation/turbidity;

c. Riprap above the mean high water mark shall be covered with soil and planted with native vegetation indigenous to the area;

d. The Department of Fish and Game shail be notified prior to beginning of work;

e. The operator shall be responsible for proper -execution of all elements of this ·agreement.

5. The annual rental value of the site has not been determined·at this time.

6. Pursuant to the Commission's delegati9n of authority and the Stata CEQA Guidelines (14 Cal. Code Regs. 15061), the staff has determined that this activity is exempt from the requirements of the CEQA under khe general rule that CEQA applies only to projects which have the potentia1 for causing a significant effect on the environment. The staff believes there is no possibility that this project, as described above and within the FONS!, may have a significant effect ·on the environment.
