Dear Club Members/Friends of Caldy CC,

I hope we have all wintered well (too well by the look of some of you at the indoor netsrecently! and are lookin forward to this comin "#$% cricket season&

For the first time in a lon while, we can all be proud to boast of some of the top traininfacilities in the 'orth est& )ver the last few years we have had installed a new state of theart electronic scorebo*, new mobile net cae, new artificial match track, new waterho (thathas and will probably never et used and a top +uality new artificial trainin/net area& llthis has only been possible throuh the dedication and hard work of your Chairman,Committee members and a few special donations/contributions alon the way& I wouldpersonally like to thank everyone who has been involved in helpin to achieve all of this andI look forward to utilisin all of these fantastic facilities as a member for many years to come&

I now can not use the old e*cuse of the trainin facilities not bein any ood so the pressureis on to start performin on the field& -he disappointments of last season have now lonpassed but the memories are still fresh for me& I am personally workin hard to ensure that

as a first team we finally achieve some of our true potential and I e*pect us finish in the toptwo this year as a minimum! ith this in mind I am pleased to announce that our very ownChris .dwards has been officially appointed club coach and has already been successfullyrunnin the last few indoor trainin session& For those of you who dont know, Chris is aformer .C0 cricketer of the year, has toured with .nland to ustralia and 1outh frica andis a fully +ualified 2evel 3 coach& Chris will be runnin the senior -hursday niht sessionsalon with a number of other +ualified Caldy CC Coaches&

ith reards to new sinins, I have the reat pleasure in welcomin back a couple ofreturnin players in Dan Hargreaves(from premature retirement and James Ashcroft(fresh from his cheerleadin studies in the 41& e can also welcome on board Simon

Simcoxfrom 4pton CC, a +uality swin bowler and classy lookin bat& Haroon Khanwillaain be with us this season, he is now part of the Caldy family and he is so happy andsettled here he has turned down a lot of bi money offers to play elsewhere& Finally I canannounce that we have secured the services of two e*cellent ustralian overseas players forthis comin year5

Brynley Richars("3 from 'ew 1outh ales is an aressive fast/medium bowler and+uality top order batsman, he has pervious e*perience of .nlish conditions (andbeer/women, he is a top lad and he will certainly fit in at Caldy& hilst over here last yearhe was called up to have trials for 1urry and actually played in a few "nd6I ames for them&7e is also a +ualified cricket coach&

Davi Short("3 from '1 is a youn left arm swin bowler who is payin his own wayover here to ain some e*perience abroad but will be a more than useful player in our "nd6I&ain he is a top lad and will fit in here very well&

0oth lads are keen for as much work as they can whilst over here, so any opportunities thatany members can provide will be reatly appreciated& 8ust let myself or any member of thecommittee know if you have anythin available bi or small& 0oth hard workin lads,prepared to do pretty much anythin for money!!! lso both boys have 49 passports&
