The table below is used to calculate the following data for the fuel gas based on its composition given in molar fractions xi: • Molar mass:

∑= i iiLHVxLHV , ∑= i iiHHVxHHV • Specific production of reaction products carbon dioxide (CO2) and water

(H2O) in stoichiometric combustion On the right hand side the composition of the combustion air is defined. Input is in the grey fields only. A sample composition is entered for illustration.

Both calculations are carried out for • stoichiometric combustion (no excess air) • combustion with excess air as defined by the air ratio λ > 1. This calculation is used especially for the determination of the flue gas quantity varying with the oxygen content:
