Cake Smash Photo shoot - Frequently asked questions

Q. Where do you take the photos?

A. We work at our studio in St Clears. Directions on the contact page of our website.

Q. When do I need to book?

A. We are a busy studio and usually booked up 2-3 months in advance. Please get in touch as soon as you can to book

this session with us to celebrate your little one’s special date. We recommend booking between 10m-13m in age.

Q. How long does the session last?

A. We allow approx. 60mins studio time.

Q. What do I need to do before the shoot?

A. Have a think when booking about your little one’s routine – usually babies are brighter in the morning, but we can

accommodate up to 4-30pm for those who prefer the afternoons.

Q. Can I bring my other children along?

A. We appreciate that sometimes getting a baby sitter is difficult - we do suggest though, that if you need to bring a

young sibling along to the session that you bring another adult with you. Your attention will very much be on baby

and Cake Smash is very much a team effort ☺

Q. Do you supply the cake?

A. Absolutely. All we ask is that you make us aware of any allergies we need to accommodate.

The session fee includes a giant cupcake – we can quote for feature cakes if required.

Q. What’s best to wear?

A. For little girls it always looks super cute if they wear a party or pretty summer dress, little boys tend to come in swim

trunks or jeans / dungarees and T shirts.

We keep a small range of outfits at the studio should you prefer not to use your own.

Q. Can I join in too?

A. It’s been known! Let us know and whatever you do, don’t forget a change of clothes for you both ☺

Q. What do I need to bring?

A. Outfits for little one, a towel, favourite noisy toy and back up snacks e.g. raisins (believe it or not we do meet the

occasional baby who doesn’t like cake! )

Q. When can I expect to see the images?

A. We advise 7-14 days from the date of the shoot.

An appointment is made for you to visit us at the studio in St Clears to show you the images

that we have taken and to discuss options on cropping / printing etc.

Please feel free to bring any friends or family members with you to your view and order session.

Unfortunately we do not provide web galleries.

Q. How many photos will you produce?

A. We can never guarantee the amount of photos we will produce from a shoot – as little one is very much in charge.

As an average we cherry pick a gallery for you of 20 hand processed images.

What we don’t do is present you with lots of images of the same pose / prop or any images that we feel are not

to our standard. Our ethos is always quality not quantity.

Q. What are your prices for prints and canvases?

A. A link to our price list can be found on the main page of our website www.jasonbanbury.com

We run promotions throughout the year including discounts for orders placed during your gallery viewing session

though please note, there is never any obligation to purchase at this time.

Q. How long do you retain our images for?

A. We guarantee to retain your images for 30 days following your view and order gallery session.

We hope the above information is helpful and useful but please don’t hesitate to contact

us if you need more advice about your Cake Smash shoot or the work that we do.

We look forward to meeting you!

Best wishes,

Lorna & Jay
