CAHNRS Operations
QUICK OVERVIEW:
Facilities & Capital Projects
What is Required to Begin a Project on the
Pullman Campus?
Save your time and effort! Before getting estimates for
services, or talking with an outside vendor about pro-
ject options, please involve WSU Facilities Services.
(FYI… contacting a vendor may disqualify them.)
Submit a Work Request to WSU Facilities Services
using MyFacilities.
Have questions where to start? Contact us.
See WSU Facilities Capital Project Timelines &
Steps for more information.
If you choose to move forward once you have re-
ceived a conceptual budget estimate, remember 100%
funding must be in a WSU account.
CIT Notes CAHNRS IT staffing changes:
Jim Buscher has retired after
many years at WSU.
Saurabh Jaiswal joined the
team as our new
Applications Developer
Ed Faulkner is now working with
CIT supporting videoconferencing and
technology statewide.
Just a reminder that the quickest way
to get assistance from CIT is to
submit a ticket.
Windows 7 will be at the end of life on January 15, 2020.
Now is the time to plan so that you aren’t in a bind when
the time arrives.
June 15-18, 2020, CIT is hosting the 2020 National Exten-
sion Technology Community conference IN Pullman.
Risk Management: Are You Covered? WSU property insurance is an opt-in coverage for both buildings and equipment/contents. Departments are
responsible for the premium. Do you have department buildings and equipment that need coverage? Need
to know if you are covered? Give our office a call at 509-335-3460.

Supervisors/Managers:
If you make use of the online training
available through
WSU’s HRS website, Skillsoft, you can
streamline the
record-keeping portion of
your safety training
responsibilities.

in Chrome. HRS is working on a solution, but until the issue is resolved,
employees should use another browser (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox)
to take the online safety training.

Cougar Safety
Award... Dixie Kearney, Operations Coor-
dinator for CAHRNS Operations,
was recognized for her contribu-
tions to safety at the WSU Safe-
ty, Health and Security Fair in
October 2018.
Since assuming her role with
CAHNRS, Dixie revitalized the
College safety committee, work-
ing diligently to improve
CAHNRS’ accident prevention
program. Ms. Kearney devel-
oped the CAHNRS safety web-
site, providing many safety re-
sources to CAHNRS personnel,
including safety training content.
Whether a health, safety, or se-
curity concern is identified by a
CAHNRS employee or an out-
side partner, Dixie readily en-
gages to help identify a solution.
Dixie is a tremendous advocate
for safety within the College, on
the Pullman campus and loca-
tions across the State.
We encourage you to share your stories of operational successes with us for future publication. Stories or story ideas can be sent to
