In my few short weeks, at CADES, I have been warmly welcomed by board, staff, clients, families and friends. It has been very heartening to have such an open reception, especially coming into a position that has been fi lled for 39 years by Bill Benson. Bill was gracious enough to stay on until the end of August to help shepherd me, around complete with a tour of the basement and the storage area –wow.

Moving forward, it is my desire to continue CADES’ mission of “Building Hope, Transforming Lives”, which it has been doing for the last 65 years. Also, I want to move CADES more into the community, which will not only support our compliance with the new federal regulations but will provide our clients with a more expansive and enriched environment. In turn, this will help others better understand the contribution people with disabilities can make to their neighborhoods.

I look forward to meeting when you are on our campus.
