CAD-371.14Aircraft commander’s discretion

to extend a flying duty period:Before Take-off:

• The maximum anticipated extension for standard flight crew and standard cabin crew is 3 hours (3:00) above the scheduled FDP limits in CAD-371.11.1 or CAD-371.28.2.

• The maximum anticipated extension for augmented flight crew and augmented cabin crew is 2 hours (2:00) above the scheduled FDP limits in CAD-371.11.3, CAD-371.12 (LRO) or CAD-371.13(ULR).

• The maximum extension for Standard flight crew and Standard cabin crew extended by Split duty is 2 hours (2:00) above the scheduled FDP limits in CAD-371.11.3.2 1 or CAD-371.28.3.1.

After Take-off:• May continue as long as necessary to land at the next

Destination / Alternate Aerodrome.

CAD-371.23 / CAD-371.24Absolute Limits on Flying / Duty Hours

Cumulative Flight Time :• 100 hours of flight time in any 28 consecutive days; • 900 hours of flight time in any 12 consecutive calendar months.

Cumulative Duty Time:• 55 Scheduled duty hours in any 7 consecutive days;• 60 Actual duty hours in any 7 consecutive days;• 95 duty hours in any 14 consecutive days; • 190 duty hours in any 28 consecutive days;

Lookback is from arrival time of leg or Midnight.

Lookback is from release time of duty or Midnight.

Two Checks when Leg/Duty crosses Midnight (Base Time).

CAD-371.20 Rest PeriodGeneral

• A Duty Cycle that contains more than 2 LRO FDPs, requires a Physiological rest between any tow consecutive LRO’s.

• A Disruptive Rest Period (DRP) is a rest period between 18:00 and 30:00 and the CM is not provided a Physiological Rest.

• If a CM has 3 consecutive DRP’s or has 4 DRP’s in a 14 day span, any subsequent EXB must be at least 34:00 during the next 14 calendar days.

• Before the start of a duty cycle that contains a ULR, the CM must be provided a duty free period that includes 2 DDO’s.

• Before the start of a ULR, the CM must be provided a rest period in compliance with the conditions in the following table:

A period free of duty following a duty cycle of length greater than 48 hours during which the crew member became un-acclimatised. A rest period and DDO(s) may form part of a recovery period.

• In the event of a second or any subsequent delays, the maximum FDP and FDP start time, will both remain unchanged from the initially revised FDP / FDP start time as presented in the table above.

• When an operator informs a crew member before leaving the place of rest of a delay in reporting time of 10 hours or more ahead, and that crew member is not further disturbed by the operator until a mutually agreed hour, then that elapsed time is classed as a rest period.

1. A CM assigned to an SBY that does not lead to a FDP must be released into a rest period no less than 12:00.2. The maximum time a CM may serve on SBY is 12:00.3. FDP is considered to start at start of FDP when a CM is assigned to report for an FDP.4. The FDP assigned to a CM on SBY for less than 6:00 will be:

a) limited to the FDP limits as defined in CAD-371.11.1, 11.3.1, 12.1, 13.3 (as appropriate) b) FDP starts at report time of the FDP

5. When a CM is assigned to begin a FDP after the scheduled end of a SBY with less than 10:00 notice, the combined SBY time and FDP time may not exceed 23:00.

6. Required rest after a SBY assigned to FDP with less than 10:00 notice:a) For a SBY that does not overlap any portion of the time from 22:00 to 08:00, the rest period following a combined SBY / FDP

shall be no less than the Assigned Duty time plus one half of the time on SBY, or the required rest in CAD-371.20, whichever is greater.

b) For a SBY which overlaps any portion of the time from 22:00 to 08:00, the rest is the same as found in CAD-371.20.7. The required rest before assignment to a series of FDP’s with a ULR FDP must meet the requirements in CAD-371.20.4

1. The minimum time from the time a CM is notified until the CM is required to report for a FDP/ASB/SBY is 10:00.

2. The time a CM serves on CP is not regarded as Rest for the purposes of Day off requirements and rest requirements.
