The Alumni Association presented the school with a $2500 check at half-time of the 2011

homecoming football game. This money was left from fund raising efforts for stadium

improvements. It was used to make payment on the new scoreboard.

In the fall 2011, we had a work day at the park and with the help of alumni members and boys from the Gentry Residential Center,

we were able to reseed some of the park, redo a retaining wall by one sidewalk, and landscape bricks by the other. The Alumni

Association contributed $430.00 to the Alumni Park for construction of a new set of steps for access to the park from a new

parking area on the east side of the gym. We still would like more tables and benches for the park, but funds are needed to do this.

If anyone would like to help plan and be involved in the All School Reunion, to be held during Memorial Day Weekend 2012,

please contact one of us. No picture was available.

Classmates of the Class of 1981 met for their 30 year reunion on July 2, 2011 at Roberts Park. To get out of the heat for the

evening we met at the First Baptist Church fellowship hall for dinner and more visiting. The meal was catered by Mike Whittenberg

and enjoyed by all.

We had 29 classmates who attended overall, which was good considering the late start for planning and not getting letters out to

everyone in time. We opologize for not reaching all classmates. It was good to visit and catch up with those able to attend. We had

a good time watching a DVD slide show of pictures from yearbooks over our years at Cabool. It was interesting trying to match

faces from Kindergarten and on up. If you did not receive your letter, please send an update to us with an address. You may

The idea was to harness the talent, experience, resources, and connections of people willing to help, for use by Cabool school and

town leadership. Would you consider becoming a DD? You don’t need to do anything more than what you’ve already been doing

in your life. Are you a lawyer, an accountant, a financier, a marketer, or a business executive?  Are you a grant writer, an educator,

a web developer, an architect? Are you a leader? Or are you just fired up to add a little “world-class athlete” ability and elbow

grease to the team?

Please contact Kirby or Aaron ([email protected], 618/ 910-1851 or [email protected], 704/ 582-9557) if you want to

sign up. For further information go to www.cabool.org , an under-development site dedicated to promoting the town specifically,
