the County of Cabell scheduled for Tuesday evening, June 5, 2018, at 5:30 p.m., in the Administrative

Office of the Board of Education, 2850 Fifth Avenue, Huntington, West Virginia.

This meeting is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the County

School System’s business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for

The Superintendent recommends approval of a contract with Edward Tucker Architects, Inc. for

architectural services for the new Highlawn Elementary School project. Funding source: SBA and Local

2227. APPROVAL OF CONTRACT FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAL FOR 2018 – 2019 SCHOOL YEAR

The Superintendent recommends approval of a contract with Allied Waste Services of North America LLC,

dba/ Republic Services of West Virginia for garbage disposal for the 2018-2019 school year. Bids were

open on May 18, 2018.

2228. REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF CARPET – HIGH SCHOOLS

The Superintendent recommends approval of the removal and replacement of carpet with V.C.T tile at

Cabell Midland High School in rooms C138, C103, C127, C128, C162, B133, E168 and Roppe Wall Base

installed. Carpet tile will be installed in Rooms B108 and B119 with Roppe Wall Base to be installed.

Huntington High School V.C.T. tile will be installed with Roppe Wall Base in Rooms: B140, B139, B137,

B136, B135, C118, D101, D150, D151, D156, D157, D160, D171, D120, D117, D119, D116, E129, E112,

D158, D161 and D143. Bids were opened on May 30, 2018. Funding source: Permanent Improvement

The Superintendent recommends approval of fees for services to be rendered by the National Federation of

Urban-Suburban School Districts in the amount of $4,000.00 for the period of July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019.

2231. SCHOOL TRIP REQUEST – BARBOURSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL

The Superintendent recommends approval of Barboursville Middle School’s trip request for the Schoolwide

Positive Student Rewards program to travel to King’s Island, Cincinnati, OH, on June 7, 2018. One hundred

sixty students will be traveling along with 17 chaperones, who are all school employees. No school will be

missed and transportation will be provided by Charter Bus. Expenses will be paid from school funds.

2233. SCHOOL TRIP REQUEST – CABELL MIDLAND HIGH SCHOOL

The Superintendent recommends approval of Cabell Midland High School’s trip request for FFA students

to travel to Morgantown, WV, on May 31 – June 1, 2018 to participate in State Career Development events.

Forty students will be traveling along with two (2) chaperones, Two (2) days of school will be missed and

transportation will be provided by County Bus. Expenses will be paid from school funds.
