TECHNOLOGY- MELVISHRAM
DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
TRASPARENT SMART
PHONES Transparent smart phones
are being designed using
the OLED and LCD
technologies.
OLED technology:
Organic light-emitting
diode (OLED) has an
emissive
electroluminescent layer
made of organic
compound which emits
light in response to
electric current. This
layer is placed in between
two electrodes made of
organic semiconductors,
atleast one of the
electrode being
transparent. This has an
emissive and conductive
layer where the electric
impulse travels from
conductive layer to the
emissive layer.
This is the most commonly
employed technology in
transparent devices and
digital displays.
TECHNOLOGY AROUND US
VISION
To empower the ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING students,
in creating disseminating technological excellence, professional commitments and
social responsibilities.
MISSION
Accomplish a technical fitness through innovative Teaching-Learning process and
Research & Development.
Nurturing the students to understand the societal needs and shape them
with technical expertise as timely performers.
Cultivating live environment for the students to groom professionalism and
handle practical challenges with ethical integrity.
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)
1. To prepare graduates for successful career in ECE profession.
2. To provide graduate with ability to successfully design, test and
development hardware & Software related engineering products that meets the
societal needs.
3. To prepare graduates with professional and ethical responsibility along with
lifelong learning to significantly contribute to the research.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)
The student will have the ability to:
1. Apply basic knowledge related to electronic circuits, embedded and
communication systems and signal processing to solve engineering/societal
problems.
2. Design, verify and validate electronic functional elements for a variety of
applications, with skills to interpret and communicate results.
3. Exercise good programming practices employing low or high level
languages on appropriate platform.
4. Use engineering and management concepts to analysis specification and
prototype electronic experiments/projects either independently or in teams.

NEW INVENTIONS 2018
EARPRINT BIOMETRIC RATHER THAN FINGERPRINT
Thought your fingerprint was secure? Think again.
Researchers at Michigan State University last year
proved it can be hacked using little more than an inkjet
printer.
Enter the ear print.
Developed by US-based technology firm Descartes
Biometrics, it works like this: Firstly, the user
downloads the ERGO software onto their smartphone.
The user lifts the device to the side of their head and presses the center of the touch
screen on their ear. A sound is then sent into the ear, and due to the "unique geometry
of the ear," the sound that is echoed back is specific to each individual.
ERGO uses sensors embedded in modern Android smartphones, meaning no additional
hardware is required. Authentication takes about one second.
THE CALORIE SCANNER
Dinner is ready. But don't tuck in. First you need to put it through your calorie scanner.
That's the idea behind CaloRieco. Its infrared
scanner measures nutrients within an accuracy
range of 20%, according to manufacturer
Panasonic. Current calorie scanners take between
two and three minutes, the tech here works in just
10 seconds.
As well as people hoping to lose weight, the product
is also aimed at those with diabetes and other diet-
affected health conditions. The scanner stores
nutritional data, and Panasonic hopes that
eventually it will be able to suggest recipes according to users' needs.
MORAL QUOTES
“Good Manners is a language seen by the blind and heared by the deaf”
Knowledge is better than wealth because knowledge protects you
while you protect wealth
