The Proposal

• A magazine on the latest comic news and latest comic collectables.

Marvel is the more popular and will most likely have more articles:

Comics – the Background

• Marvel Comics in 1939 while DC Comics started in 1934.

• Marvel have been releasing comics in the UK since 1972 and DC since 1984.

• Marvel has released over 15, 000 titles while DC has released around the same but have recently rebooted 52 titles.

• Both companies make billions of dollars each year.

The Masthead- Selecting Process

• I made a survey on my mastheads, of which 11 people completed. These were the 3 options:

COMIX (Option 2) was the most popular name and the 1st masthead was the favourite because of the addition of Marvel and DC logos.

Competition

• There appears to be no competitors for the idea of ‘comic NEWS’ but there are competitors who broadcast multiple film news that include comic-based films – EMPIRE proving the biggest competitor.
