BASE & PERIMETERSURVEILLANCE Ultra provides total base cyber-physical solutions including perimeterand border surveillance and securitysystems integrating 24-hour sensors(including unattended groundsensors), land radars, long-rangeelectro-optic systems andcommunications. Ultra’s systemsenable effective detection,recognition, identification andtracking of personnel or objects ofinterest. This provides for theprotection of a range of assets,including oil and gas pipelines,transport hubs and power plants, aswell as critical national installations.A system can be supplied asstandalone or fully integrated into astatic or fully deployable C2 systemfor integration within a strategic,operational, tactical and/or mobilecommand post. Ultra seamlesslyintegrates data from multiple sourcesto form an essential commonoperating picture. Ultra also providescovert mobile surveillance systems.These portable and integratedsolutions are optimised for size,weight and power to support fieldofficers and Special Forces, and allow

Ultra’s VirtualFence system controlsbase access, protecting infrastructureand personnel with DoD levelautomated and manual security 24/7 – all through conveniently centralisedC2. State-of-the-art automated entrycontrol systems provide criticalinfrastructure protection (CIP) via gate

and building access, as well as aroundthe base perimeter. Restricted areasare managed by automated rules thatcan alert security personnel or triggerdeterrents. It provides real-time videosurveillance in a remote, intelligentpackage with optional built inanalytics. BORDER AND COASTALSURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS Ultra’s surveillance systems enabletotal surveillance coverage of anation’s border and coastline,integrating high-performance,optimised coastal surveillance radarswith sophisticated signal processingand powerful trackers. Radar tracksare combined with automaticidentification system (AIS) tracks,transponders, long-range electro-opticsensors, direction finding sensors andelectronic support measures thenrelayed via any communications link toall land and sea assets and C2 centres.

MARITIME SECURITY &SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS Ultra’s maritime security & surveillancesystems allow coastguards, naval unitsand assets to build and share acommonly recognised maritimepicture (RMP). All units, large andsmall, whether at sea, ashore orairborne, are able to both receive andcontribute to the same RMP. Thisenables coherent tactical, operationaland strategic action and oversight inorder to secure a nation’s coastline,territorial waters or EEZ, and toconduct effective policing andcounter trafficking operations.

OFFSHORE OIL & GAS SECURITYAND SAFETY SYSTEMS Ultra’s offshore oil and gas securityand safety systems are designedspecifically to assist offshore oil andgas operators with concerns for thesecurity and safety of their offshoreassets. Ultra’s systems can trackvessels up to a range of 25 nauticalmiles (NM) from an offshore/onshoreinstallation. Tracking of vessels is fullyautomatic and is unaffected bychanges in weather and seaconditions. Radar track data istransmitted via a network or radiolink to platform display modules atlocal and remote control rooms(offshore or onshore), and/or anycompany operated vessel within35NM of the system.

PORT AND HARBOUR SECURITYAND SAFETY The Group’s port and harbour securityand safety offering incorporates ‘bestof breed’ and low cost of ownershipsensors and peripherals. The situationalawareness displays can be installedanywhere on the network, even inmobile C2 posts. A variety of symbols,to identify different sensor sources, canbe overlaid on accurately-referencedcharts and maps, in vector or rasterformats, or aerial/satellite photographs.Ultra has a portfolio of software andexpertise which enables the delivery ofintegrated systems capable ofprocessing data from a wide variety ofsensors, including radar, sonar, camerasand AIS transponders. The Group’sSituational Awareness ManagementSystem (SAMS) generates a commonoperating picture which can be sharedby multiple groups and providessituational awareness for a wide varietyof situations such as oil and gasinstallations, coastal, border andperimeter protection and maritimesecurity. In addition to providing aconsolidated view of the entiresituation, the system can coordinatesensors to provide additionalsituational information. For example,once radar has detected a potentialthreat, monitoring can automatically

be started by a camera to provideadditional visual information. All sensordata is recorded and can be replayedand filtered on the system in real-time,high speed or slow-motion.

ASSET PROTECTION AND ASSET TRACKINGUltra provides an integrated assetprotection and asset tracking (ownForces tracking) system that providesboth Line-of-Sight (LOS) and over thehorizon (OTH) tracking capability. Thesystem seamlessly networks assets andplatforms together, providing totalsituational awareness of own forces.Ultra’s asset protection and trackingsystems even provide the capability torelay tracks and contacts of interest tohigh speed interceptors. This near-realtime up-to-date, accurate track datasupports maritime security, fisheriesand EEZ protection, law enforcementand search and rescue operations.

Ultra’s ForceWatch™ increaseseffectiveness of tactical teams, whereresponsiveness and accuracy arecritical, by enabling secure voice, videoand data communications using smartdevices. The system provides resilientand highly-responsive mapping,frequent position updates, trackingwithin GPS-denied environments andhigh-quality full motion video fromvehicles and dismounted teams.Digital transmission of decisions andupdated mission objectives reducesambiguity. TACTICAL DISPLAYS ANDVISUALISATION SYSTEMSUltra’s Advanced Correlation andTracking System™ (ACTS) combinesease-of-use, seamless sensorintegration and high-performancereal-time tracking to provide mission-critical reliable, synchronisedmanagement of information on thebattlefield. The ACTS openarchitecture provides a wide variety ofsensor interfaces and, combined witha data link processor, managestactical information from multiple

inputs. ACTS is capable of handlingcomplex tracking environments andprovides unsurpassed trackcompleteness, clarity and accuracy,delivered in real time. Ultra’s technical capabilities are underpinned byreal and current expert domain-knowledge of the implementation of EW in tactical and strategic operational scenarios.

Electronic Warfare (EW)

ELECTRONIC INTELLIGENCE UltraEAGLE is a family of electronicsupport products designed to meetElectronic Intelligence (ELINT) ISRoperations. UltraEAGLE exploits thebenefits of an open systemarchitecture incorporating widebandsoftware-defined digital receivertechnology. UltraEAGLE offers state-of-the-art radar emitter intercept,analysis and recording. The systems

have the ability to sort, identify andcollect data from the latest threatemitters, including those using lowprobability of intercept techniquessuch as spread spectrum. UltraEAGLEis augmented with Ultra’s TALON-Esoftware, a powerful and provenELINT control and analysis tool thatwill support live intercept, analysis andrecording. Based on our uniquedomain expertise and knowledge,Ultra also offers programming andvalidation systems for EW self-protection (EWSP) systems; signalanalysis software applications; highsensitivity digital receivers; SpecificEmitter Identification (SEI) systems andEW training systems.

Significant design effort has beenapplied to the UltraEAGLE product tominimise SWaP, so that the system issuitable for installation on UAVs andother small platforms.

ELECTRONIC ATTACKUltraRAVEN is a modern Stand-offJammer (SOJ) system that addressesthe significant electronic countermeasure (ECM) suppression capabilityinherent in many modern radar systemdesigns. The UltraRAVEN system isable to do this with a combination ofcareful system design to provide highEffective Radiated Power (ERP) andsystem gain and the incorporation ofmodern ECM technology including amulti-bit Digital Radio FrequencyMemory (DRFM) integrated with a fastresponse ECM receiver, pulserepetition tracker (PRT) and anadvanced ECM techniques generator.

UltraRAVEN systems are designed to provide the stand-off jammercapability to detect, measure, analyseand jam conventional and complextypes of ground radar signals,including pulse Doppler, frequencyagile, pulse compression, PRFstaggered, frequency diversity, pulsecoded, chirp and other complexradars. This provides the ability toeffectively defeat a variety of threatradars, through the combination of ahigh Effective Radiated Power (ERP)and smart noise, false targets or moresubtle deception techniques.

Ultra provides Integrated MicrowaveAssemblies (IMAs) and radiofrequency subsystems supportingimproved threat detection andidentification, as well as improvedenemy engagement. Ultra’s productsare key enablers for a variety ofadvanced systems including: AN/ALQ-218 Radar WarningReceiver/Electronic Support Measures(RWR/ESM) for the EA-18G and P-8APoseidon aircraft; AN/APR-39 familyof RWRs integrated on a variety offixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, andnaval vessels; AN/SLQ-32 (V) SEWIPBlock 2 (Electronic Support capabilityenhancement) and Block 3 (ElectronicAttack) for improved surface ship EW;SLR-25(V)2 SSEE Increment F foradvanced naval surface shipsituational awareness; and DigitalElectronic Warfare System (DEWS),

providing advanced capabilities forthe F-15 Eagle Passive Active WarningSurvivability System (EPAWSS). Ultra’ssubsystems are also critical parts ofadvanced test systems used tovalidate the performance of a varietyof next generation EW platforms.

Ultra provides a variety ofsubassemblies covering a broadfrequency range to 40+GHz, withstate-of-the-art instantaneousbandwidths (IBW), fast switching,and low noise/low spuriousperformance. Hermetic packages andstandard 3U/6U form factors areused, along with both custom andindustry standard VME/VPXinterfaces, to provide high reliabilityin demanding environments andflexibility for integration in a widerange of systems. Broadbandfrequency converters and tuners,frequency generation assemblies,switched filter banks, high powerlimiters, preselectors and integratedreceivers are included in the widerange of custom and standardproduct offerings.

TEST EVALUATION AND TRAININGUltra specialises in test solutions for thefull range of EW test and evaluation.

Flight Line Confidence testing: ThePTS8000 is a family of small, portablebattery powered hand held devicesthat allow military maintenancecrews to determine the operationalstatus of platform self-protectionsuites. Testing of radar warningreceivers (RWR), missile warningsystems (MWS) or laser warningreceivers (LWR) is supported.

Laboratory Evaluation: Theevaluation of ESM or ECM systems ina laboratory environment is crucial todetermining the overall systemperformance both before and duringoperational service. The RSS8000Radar Signal Simulator covering100MHz – 40GHz incorporates thelatest technology and the modulardesign provides a cost-effectiveupgrade path for future systemexpansion. RSS8000 systems arefielded in EW centres of expertiseworldwide.

The Chameleon simulator,incorporating the latest 1.2GHzDRFM technology, provides acomplete solution for radar targetgeneration (RTG) and ECM signalgeneration in a single system.Chameleon is ideal for hardware inthe loop testing or for radiatingapplications for radar and ECM test,evaluation and training.

EW Open Range Testing: The abilityto engage aircraft on a dedicated EW Range with realistic or actualthreat emitters forms an integral partof test and evaluation and theMobile EW Radar Test System(MERTS) was designed for thispurpose. It utilises the capabilities ofthe RSS8000 Radar Signal simulatoror the Chameleon RTG together withhigh power amplifiers and high gainantennas to radiate RF threats, radartargets and jamming techniques toships and aircraft. The system isdeployed on several EW Rangesaround the world and provides acomplete turnkey solution for freespace EW test and evaluation.

PAG 800 HIGH-RESOLUTIONSTEREO-ZOOM MICROSCOPEThe PAG 800 microscope deliverscrisp and high-contrast stereo imagesthat meet the highest standards. Foradditional flexibility, multiple LED andcold light sources are available, as arespecialty reticules.

CRIME SCENE LAMPS The crime scene light used makes ahuge difference to the quality ofevidence collected. Ultra’s SL-450High-Intensity Crime Scene Lamp is along-lasting, portable light sourcewith seven different light settings tohelp spot even the smallest clues,while its CSL-SHOE low-profile lampis designed to help identify hard-to-see shoe prints and markings on avariety of surfaces.
