CTC GWALIOR CREATED WORLD RECORD

On February 29 , 2016, CTC, Gwalior created a world record in bugle blowing wherein 180 buglers blew the bugle while making different a�rac�ve forma�ons by con�nuously marching in synchronisa�on, playing different bugle calls without support of any other musical instrument for 12 mins and 35 secs.

The record was included in Asia Book of Records and Smt. Komal Singh, Adjudicator of the book presented a cer�ficate to this effect to Sh. Prakash Mishra, DG, CRPF. CTC Gwalior has also sent the claim to the Guinness Book of World Records.

AUSTRALIAN DELEGATION VISITS INSTITUTE OF IED MANAGEMENT, CRPF, PUNE

An Australian delega�on visited the Ins�tute of IED thManagement, CRPF, Pune on 15 Feb, 2016. The delega�on

interacted with the officers and instructors of the Ins�tute and visited IED Model Room, IED Archives, IED Lab, R&D Sec�on, demoli�on wing, class rooms and equipment gallery. A demonstra�on of IEDs used by Naxals was shown to the delega�on. Various IED incident sites have been created on the basis of past IED incidents of LWE theatre. The demonstra�on helped the delega�on to understand the IEDs being used by the Maoists in LWE theatre. The delega�on could get an idea about tac�cs, techniques and procedures of maoists in using IEDs.

A�er the demonstra�on, various facets of IED and countermeasures were discussed in detail. Following members of Australian delega�on took part in the counter IED discussion.

INSTITUTE IN FOCUS – CENTRAL TRAINING COLLEGE - NEEMUCH

Sh. Satpal Rawat, DIGPPrincipal of the Ins�tute

st Central Training College, CRPF, Neemuch came into existence on 1 December 1960 for basic and in-service training of various ranks of the force and was the first training ins�tu�on of the force. Lt. Col. Sawal Singh was the first principal of the ins�tute. In the ini�al stages only Recruits Wing was created but in 1961 Cadre Wing was also added. With the passage of �me, directly recruited Subordinate Officers / Under Officers were also sent for basic training to this Ins�tu�on.This College was started in Sardar Barrack earlier named as Victoria Barrack of the Neemuch Cantonment, which was handed over by Bri�sh Army to CRPF in 1939 when CRPF was raised.

Sardar Barrack - Neemuch The basic training of Directly Appointed Gaze�ed Officers of CRPF was conducted at CTC Neemuch from 1963 to 1975. A�er raising of ISA, Mount Abu in 1975 the basic training of DAGOs was shi�ed to ISA, Mount Abu. The Technical Wing of CTC Neemuch was established in January 1976 for training of Ct/ Drivers and later on various courses were added to the curriculum. In 2012, the ins�tute shi�ed to its new administra�ve block building which is a state of the art building with the office block as well as modern classrooms, computer lab, library, mul� gym etc . For smooth func�oning of training and administra�on, the Central Training College Neemuch has been divided into four wings which are Physical Wing, Weapon and Tac�cs Wing, Technical Wing and Administra�on Wing.

Administra�ve Block - Neemuch CTC Neemuch has facili�es of canteen, coopera�ve shop, recrea�on room, central school, auditorium, open theatre, STD booth, bank cum ATM, internet cafe and a well stocked library. The College has an excellently managed training infrastructure like various types of firing ranges, model rooms, simulators, outdoor training facili�es, field for�fica�on area , gymnasium, UAC ground, drill sheds and modern class rooms. The college has trained more than 95,000 force personnel in various basic training, specialized in-service and promo�onal courses. Besides 850 personnel of ONGC, IB, Parliament Security, Narco�cs Control Bureau, J&K police and CISF have also been trained in weapon and tac�cs courses. 140 personnel including 132 of Srilanka police and 08 of Nepal police have also been trained by this College. This ins�tute regularly sends faculty to run specialised courses like special course on support weapons to LWE based units, 81 mm mortar courses and training at newly raised units. Sh. Satpal Rawat, DIGP being a passionate and dedicated trainer with excellent team of officers has planned a total of 20 courses in 2016 with an es�mated capacity of around 4000 trainees. The college is on its way to achieve its Mo�o “Towards Excellence”.

AWARDS and HONOURSCRPF BAND STANDS FIRST

The 16 All India Police Band Compe��on-2015, was th rdheld w.e.f. 19 Feb, 2016 to 23 Feb, 2016 at Rajasthan

Police Academy Stadium, Jaipur. 23 teams from 18 states par�cipated in the event and CRPF Band secured the First posi�on and brought laurels to the organisa�on.

MAHILA CROSS COUNTRY TEAM BROUGHT LAURELS

Mount Abu Interna�onal Trail Marathon of 21 kms thwas held on 20 March 2016 in which more than 1000

par�cipants from India and abroad par�cipated. HC(Mahila) Wahida Rehman of CRPF secured second posi�on with �ming of 1:29.10 hrs and CT (Mahila) Pra�ma Kumari came third with �ming of 1:33:23 hrs.
