If you are interested in taking part, you must be entering grades 6-9, able to attend weekly meetings and the actual day of the battle on August 11th.

The course is a two-day program, meeting from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM each evening. You must attend both classes to receive your certificate. The fee for the course is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members, payable to AARP by check or money order only. Completion of this program entitles you to a 10% deduction on your automobile liability and collision insurance for 3 years. Please bring your AARP membership and Commack Public Library cards with you to register. Only Commack Public Library patrons will be allowed to register the first day.

GREAT BOOKS READING AND DISCUSSION GROUP CKA1000Tuesday, May 1st, 7:30 PM – 9:30 PMThe Great Books Reading and Discussion Group meets on the first Tuesday of each month, September through June. The next meeting will take place on May 1st to discuss “Equality, Value, and Merit” by Friedrich Hayek, and a selection from Liberalism by Richard Dworkin, which can be found in the Great Books Foundation’s Counterparts. The reading for June 5th will be “The Real Thing” which can be found in the Great Books Foundation’s Short Story Omnibus. Extra copies of each book are available at the Circulation Desk.
