SUFFERING AND THE CHURCH FAMILY
Suffering and the Church Family: Reading this newsletter,
you will find that the Connect Church family is going through
“trials of many kinds” (James 1:2). COVID continues.
Surgeries have taken place. Hospitalizations are happening.
Uncertainty is a certainty for many. Since this is going on, we
at Connect Church want to make ourselves available to you.
Edward T. Welch tells us why in his book, Side by Side: Walking
with Others in Wisdom and Love, “Thus, when people are
suffering, small groups become places of comfort, care, and
healing. This is one of the byproducts of life-on-life ministry.
The more we know and love one another, the more we’ll
naturally help one another in times of suffering. The church
ought to be a refuge for sufferers.” Community is key, and
Christ, in that community, is the key. If you are suffering-
stricken or right now suffering-adjacent, jump into this
community, make yourself known, so we together can help
each other in times of suffering. One practical way to do that
is to reach out to the elders of Connect Church. We would
love to talk to you and walk with you. Elders: Bruce Bandstra
(629-6847), Ralph De Haan (780-2092), Pastor Brad Meinders
(629-1575), Fred Van Den Broek (627-5581) and Russ Van
Hemert (416-0255).
