Inner West Council’s Ethical/Social Enterprise award seeks to recognise the efforts of businesses whose core focus is on improving the social and economic wellbeing of the marginalised and/or disadvantaged people in its community.
Inner West Council’s Ethical/Social Enterprise Award recognises the contribution of ethical and social enterprises to creating a better economy and a fairer community. This Award represents a unique opportunity for social enterprises to be recognised by their peers and the community at large for the work they are doing over and above just providing jobs.

For the purpose of this award a Social Enterprise is defined as: A ethical/social enterprise is an organisation that applies commercial strategies to maximise improvements in financial, social and environmental wellbeing—this may include social impact alongside profits for external shareholders.
ELIGIBILITY
JUDGING
WINNERS
The Award is open to any ethical or social enterprise, as defined below, located in the Inner West local government area and operating at the time of closure for nominations.
Judges will be looking for examples of outstanding contributions to the growth of ethical and social enterprises within the LGA.
Winners will be announced at the 2020 Inner West Local Business Awards Presentation Evening at Burwood RSL Club on Wednesday 27 May, 2020.
