• It included the use of binary arithmetic, regenerative memory, parallel processing, separating of memory and computing functions

• Weighed 750 pounds• It stored 3000 bits• 270 vacuum tubes• 210 controlled arithmetic unit• 30 controlled card reader and card

punch• Remaining tubes maintained charges in

the condensers

In 1948 the Atanasoff-Berry Computer was dismantled at Iowa State University

John Vincent Atanasoff was not aware of them dismantling it.

Only a few original components survived the computer won the national medal of

Question #1

Q: How do you know your sources are valid?

A:I know my sources are valid because they all show an author or copyright company. Also, people aren't able to add information to the site.

Question # 2 Q: What hardware/software problems did you

encounter in this project and how did you solve them?

A:With my wikispace, I was on it and my computer had a glitch and everything got deleted off of it. After a few days, my information came back. Also, my computer wouldn’t let me upload my power point onto wikispace so I switched computers and worked on it there.

Q:How is technology changing our society

A: Technology is making society more dangerous. For example, people text when they drive and cause accidents. Also, its made society lazier. People would rather spend time on the computer and watch TV then go outside. Finally its made our society more simple. Now with all the phones and iPods with internet, people don’t have to carry around their laptops.
