What’s the Internet?• The Internet is built on a chaotic mishmash of

hardware, governed by minimal standards and even fewer rules. Thousands of different software packages broadcast on the internet, connecting millions of users each day. During the Clinton administration, the Internet was nicknamed "The Information Superhighway", a term which has now become grossly inadequate to describe the sheer magnitude of the Internet's reach.

How was the internet brought in the world?

• The history of the Internet began with the development of electronic computers in the 1950s.

What are some things you can’t do on the internet?

• So, you got the computer. You learned how to do e-mail. You’ve even got a high-speed Internet connection to send and receive photos. You may even have Google yourself. What else can you do with your computer and that Internet connection? Well, here are some idea’s. This was one of the marvels of the Internet for me in recent years. As the world of the “foodie” has expanded onto the Internet, more and more, people are sharing their favorite recipes, inventing new ones and creating variations on some classics — available for anyone to take on in their own kitchen.

Internet society

• The Internet Society was formed officially in 1992, with one of its purposes being to provide a corporate structure to support the Internet standards development process. Vint Cerf, Bob Kahn, Lyman Chapin released a document, Announcing ISOC, which explained the rationale for establishing the Internet Society. This document also defines the original charter of the organization as follows:

Internet history• The history of the Internet began with the development of

electronic computers in the 1950s. The public was first introduced to the concepts that would lead to the Internet when a message was sent over the ARPANet from computer science Professor Leonard Kleinrock's laboratory at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), after the second piece of network equipment was installed at Stanford Research Institute (SRI). Packet switched networks such as ARPANET, Mark I at NPL in the UK, CYCLADES, Merit Network, Tymnet, and Telenet, were developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s using a variety of protocols. The ARPANET in particular led to the development of protocols for internetworking, in which multiple separate networks could be joined together into a network of networks.

What is a hacker on the internet? In the computer security context, a hacker is someone who seeks and exploits weaknesses in a computer system or computer network. Hackers may be motivated by a multitude of reasons, such as profit, protest, or challenge. The subculture that has evolved around hackers is often referred to as the computer underground and is now a known community. While other uses of the word hacker exist that are not related to computer security, such as referring to someone with an advanced understanding of computers and computer networks, they are rarely used in mainstream context. They are subject to the long standing hacker definition controversy about the true meaning of the term hacker. In this controversy, the term hacker is reclaimed by computer programmers who argue that someone breaking into computers is better called a cracker, not making a difference between computer criminals (black hats) and computer security experts. Some white hat hackers claim that they also deserve the title hacker, and that only black hats should be called hackers.

How does all information get into the internet?

• Information gets on the Internet when somebody decides to make it available. For example, a company may put information about products and services it offers; a person may set up a personal Web site with any information he considers worthwhile to share, a non-profit organization may share information it considers important, a political or religious organization may distribute information about its goals, etc.

• By the way, the information "on the Internet" is actually stored in hard disks, and similar equipment, on computers called "servers". The Internet is not a place to store information, it is just the way to access that information.

How long has the internet be around for?

• Internet or International Network was launched way back in 1969.At that time it was a connection meant for the US Army. By the year 1973,internet was public and started to grow. It has grown to this extent that now it is not recommended to launch a website.
