The design concept for the SkyCity Presentation Centre is in – and it’s amazing! A vision in light and linear design, the office will feature a designer decorated suite for visitors to tour, a spectacular three-dimensional model of the building, videos, touchscreens and displays that will showcase SkyCity to life for potential residents. Work is well under way but will take several months to complete so we anticipate opening in spring 2015. Stay tuned for more updates and you can choose first before we open to the public.

CEO Sleepout 2014 gets our support

Since 2011, the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ has

organized an annual CEO Sleepout, recruiting

and mobilizing over 100 leaders from the private

and public sectors to help bring attention and

awareness to the intricate and complex issue

of homelessness in the City of Winnipeg and

downtown. This year, Hal Kersey from Mady

Development Corporation and Vince Petrozza

from Fortress Real Capital joined in CEO Sleepout

2014 on September 18/19 in support of this

worthy cause.

An Urban Planner, Stefano Grande has the job of his dreams. As the Executive Director for the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, Stefano leads the successful marketing team responsible for creating appealing downtown events for all seasons including a wide menu of evening programs. “There are cool people and cool places downtown, and we market them in a cool way. Downtown Peggy was launched on his watch and quickly became the social media voice for all things downtown, garnering many awards. He explains, “Today, young people are dialed in to more and more social media.” Stefano is excited about the lifestyle opportunities for downtown residents and says, “Only cool and creative people want to live downtown! Seriously, downtown living is for people who live busy and active lives and want to connect with the vibe of a city, and want to be seen.” His view of SkyCity? “In one word; transformative.”
