*Dia Duit

*Dia duit! Is mise Roibeárd Ó Cairealláin. Chuaigh mé go dtí an turas scoile 2015.

Chuaigh mé go dtí an scoil ar a hocht a chlog.

Ansin, chuaigh mé go dtí an Athenry Heritage Centre. Rith mé agus na páistí tríd lúbra. Chaitheamar an saighead ar an boghdóireacht. Ghleas na páistí agus an múinteoir suas in éadaí ón méanaoiseach. (Irish version of Athenry Heritage Centre)

*Athenry Heritage Centre

Hello! My name is Robert Carleton. I got up at 8:00a.m. on Monday 15/6/15A.D., and we, the children and teachers of Facefield N.S., were going on our school tour for 2015!

First, we went to the Athenry Heritage Centre. Me and the other children ran through a maze. It was kinda easy, but sometimes, you got stuck. We did Archery afterwards. I was first on my team, and I got straight down the middle-I hit the centre of the board!

Then we all dressed up (including the teachers) in medieval costumes and did a short play. After that, we went across the road to Athenry Castle. (English version of Athenry Heritage Centre)

*Caisléan Athenry

*Is maith liom Athenry Heritage centre. Tar éis an Heritage Centre, chuamar go dtí an Caisléan Athenry. Chuamar suas staighre agus thóg mé pictiúr. Feach mé an scannán agus rinne mé taifead air.

Ansin, chuamar go dtí an bhus.

*Athenry Castle

*The Athenry Heritage Centre was probably my favourite of all the places we went to.

Next up was the Castle of Athenry. We first went to a basement the at the same floor level as the grass outside. Then we went up a staircase outside to go to the medieval ground floor, that to us, was the 1st floor. There was glass plates in a corner, were would have been trap doors to get food in the basement. I stood on it and took a photo of it because our tour guide, Sarah, told us that it was safe to walk on because the glass was really thick and strong.

After going up 2 floors and going to the Attic, we watched a movie, in which I filmed.

*Clonmacnoise

*Tar éis an Caisléan Athenry, chuaigh mé go dtí an Clonmacnoise.

Shiúlamar an páirc agus feach mé an scannán.

Chonaic mé an River Shannon. Ansin, chuaigh mé go dtí an “The shop at Clonmacnoise.” Cheannaigh mé brontanois do mo chlann.

Tar éis tamaill, chuaigh mé go dtí an Hodson bay-Viking Boat!

*Clonmacnoise

*After going to the Castle in Athenry, we went to Clonmacnoise.

We were told a lot of the History there by our tour guide. We then watched another film, which I didn’t film.

Afterwards, we went to “The shop at Clonmacnoise.”

The lady there was really kind, and said we were the best children in there ALL day!

I got a mini-mirror for my mom, a chocolate bar for my brother, a copy of the book of Kelts for my dad and an inflatable pillow for myself!

*Hodson Bay Viking Boat

*Last, but not least we went to Hodson bay for a ride on a viking boat. I got to sit at the very back, only a barrior kept us from falling in to the River Shannon.

The others that didn’t get to sit at the back got to steer the boat first, then everyone at the back, including me, steered it. I then went down to the shop under the deck and got a big viking helmet and a sword n shield. We arrived at Athlone, where our bus was waiting for us. We actually arrived at the school half-an-hour early!

*Hodson Bay Viking Boat

*Chuamar go dtí an Hodson bay mar isteach sé agus sí an “Viking boat.” Suigh mé an cúl agus feach mé an River Shannon arís!

Cheannaigh mé clogad agus claíomh n sciath. Chuaigh an Viking boat go dtí an Athlone agus tháinig me abhaile.
