The paper should contain at least three of the topics given, utilizing at least five sources, two of which have to be books. Each topic should have at least one citation (footnote/endnote).
The paper is to have an introduction which states the question/thesis and provide evidence answering the question in each of the chosen topics and a conclusion summarizing the evidence answering the question posed as well as what you learned from this project.
8th Grade Research ProjectThe Task (cont.)
The paper may be hand written or typed. It should be at least five pages, 12 font, double spaced or the written equivalent. It should have endnotes or footnotes giving credit for the sources that provide your information and a properly formatted reference page (bibliography) according to the example bibliography provided. HOW IS A RESEARCH QUESTION DEVELOPED?
IN FORMING A RESEARCH QUESTION,
YOU SHOULD:
1. Consider a broad topic (e.g., The Progressive Era)
2. Narrow the topic by focusing on a specific aspect of the
broad topic
(e.g., Women’s role in the Progressive era)
3. Ask a research question about a specific aspect of the
broad topic
(e.g., How did women struggle for the right to vote?)
