Psalm 33:12-22 (NKJV) 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. 13 The
LORD looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. 14 From the place of His dwelling He looks On all the inhabitants of the earth; 15 He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works. 16 No king is
saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength. 18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, 19 To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in
famine. 20 Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name. 22 Let Your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.
Fourth of July is deadliest holiday weekend
The National Safety Council estimated that there would be 385 deaths and 41,200 injuries -- including car crashes, swimming incidents and fireworks accidents -- this Fourth of July. Last year, there were eight deaths and 11,400 injuries from fireworks mishaps alone. Research finds that the majority of deaths on and around Independence Day are from car accidents.
Do I have healthy or unhealthy fears? What does it mean to “fear” God?
What are the benefits of fearing God?
q You believe in one God, You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! (James 2:19).
q “I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground” instead of using it productively (Matthew 25:25).
q The “cowardly” or “fearful” will not be in God’s kingdom. revelation 21:8
“Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied”
Acts 9:31
“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill the body; they cannot touch your soul.
Fear only God who can destroy both soul and body in hell”
Matthew 10:28
Therefore since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful,
and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a
consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29
“…if we judge ourselves, we would not come under judgment. Yet when we are
judged by the Lord we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned along
with the world. (1 Cor. 11:31-32)
Psalms 25:14 “The Lord is a friend to those who fear Him”
“Those who fear the Lord will have all they need” Ps. 34:9
“His mercy is on those who fear Him” Luke 1:50
Psalm 25:14 (NKJV) 14 The secret of the LORD is with those who
fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.
