The Amazing Human Nervous System
Your Nervous System is the
most complicated and fragile
system. It tells all your other
systems what to do. The
Nervous System carries
messages to the brain.
Nervous System
Your Nervous System helps you move. Your
Nervous System wouldn’t work if you didn’t have
the other systems. It is just the same the other way
around, if you didn’t have your Nervous System
you wouldn’t be able to move.
How Your Nervous System Works
Your brain is made of
special cells called
neurons that run
throughout your body.
Neurons carry
information around your
body and brain.
What Your Nervous System is Made of
• Your Nervous System is your body’s control center.
• Your nerves are made of special cells.
• Your nervous system keeps your balance.
• There are around 47 miles of nerves in your body.
• One nerve cell may be connected to 1000 more.
• Your nerve impulses can travel up to 390 feet per second.

• Thousands of nerve cells die each day
• One nerve in a human body is the sciatic nerve
• Your nervous system sends information around
your body.
