VESPUCCi was eager to travel around the world. He wanted to explore the world and find new lands and destinations.

On his way, Vespucci found South America, thinking it was Asia. He then found out he was not in Asia. He had discovered a “New World.”

Vespucci managed to afford all of his journeys. His second voyage was funded by Portugal. earlier, he was in the banking firm of the Medici family, one of the richest merchant families in Florence.

I am Amerigo veSpucci, AND I am aN Italian

explorer and navigator!

I’VE FOUND A

NEW WORLD!

Vespucci and his company prepared all of the supplies and food that he and his crew would need for the journey.

In 1491, he moved to Seville, Spain, where he found and became connected with a company equipping ships for long trips. When their leader died, Vespucci took over.

Even though Vespucci studied navigation when he was a child, he still had to use a navigation instrument called an “astrolabe” on his first voyage. He used it to find his route.

I want to explore the world and find new worlds and destinations!

this is a map of where he traveled on his journey.

On the way back from his first voyage, Vespucci captured 200 natives from the Bahamas as slaves. He brought them with him back to Spain.

Vespucci explored from 1451 to when he died,in 1512.

Vespucci’s 200 native slaves helped out his country by doing his work and compeleting things he was supposed to do.

in 1501, 1502, 1503, and again 1504, Vespucci sailed with a Portuguese captain named Gonçalo Coelho.

On his first voyage, Vespucci sailed along the coast of Venezuela and north along the coast of Brazil.he SAW the mouths of the Amazon and Orinoco rivers.

what should we

call the new land we

found.

VESPUCCI MADE TWO VOYAGES TO THE NEW WORLD. HE CAPTAINED this ship WITH ALONSO DE OJEDA.
