What is it..

Chicken run is an experiment to test your reaction. Chicken run is and experiment that test your reaction time, you can choose what weather condition it is, by using a reaction timer, you can also set what speed the car is moving at, next you press a button and it flashes a second time when u have to press another button to read your reaction speed.

What did the rest of the class do

Since we did it in the corridor, each person in the class would decide were about in the hall to stand, this would show whether or not they would be safe, which is determined by the persons reaction speed/ stopping distance

Results for Braking Distances

• Test 1- Talking-40mph, dry- 24m

• Test 2- Normal- 20mph, dry- 6m

• Test 3- Normal- 30mph, wet- 28m

• Test 4- Texting- 30 mph, dry- 14m

Conclusion

We were surprised that we all stood relatively close to where the driver pressed the button. It made us really think about peoples reaction times and the average speed people pressed the button at and towards the end of the experiment we had all improved out estimated spot.
