SHAQ’S CHILDHOOD… Shaquille O’Neal was born on March 6th, 1972 in Newark, NJ.

He didn’t see his dad until he was a teenager. He went to military school in NJ.

He started to play basketball at age 12. He was 6 ft. 8 in. at that time.

Then he moved to San Antonio, Texas at age 13 He attended Robert G. Cole for Middle and High school

He was 7 ft. 1 inch when he was 16.His high school basketball team won the state championship when he was a sophmore.

His dad beat him up everyday because he wanted Shaq to become a bigger and tougher kind of man.Shaq said it happened so much he felt like he wasn’t loved by anyone and felt he should run away.
