Henry G. Ford The Model T Ford was built by a man named Henry G. Ford. He was the founder of Ford Motor company, when he started his business,

the first car was sold. Not one person knows what his middle name is. In fact he might not even

know what it was. Everyone just put it as Henry G. Ford. He was very unique. He had a mind of his own. But he was also a man who cared for others.

Fords Assembly Line Before there were any robots to build the cars for the people, the people built the

cars by hand in a factory on Piquett Avenue In 1908 the assembly line workers would get paid $2.35 each day. That was the minimum wage back then. The people in the U.S. today would not be to happy with the salary they would get

if they worked on the assembly line.

The Model T The Model T was built in 1908 on October 1. The only reason Henry Ford built the Model T was because he thought that it

was a good way of transportation to get people around faster. The way you started the Model T was you had to crank a shaft at the front of

the car. The car did not have any accessories like the cars we have today. It didn’t

have air conditioning, seatbelts, nor did it have a speedometer to tell how fast you were going. But back in 1908, people did not worry about how fast they went, they just worried about getting somewhere.

The wheels on the Model T were not four-wheel drive. They were just wooden rims and tires that were at least 4 inches wide. The Model T priced around $360 to about $825, that was alot of money back the in 1908

Today’s Cars…. When the Model T was built it gave people the ideas to build new types of cars Since 1908, the cars have changed dramatically The engines have become more durable and more advanced to make the car

move at very high speeds. The Model T was not the kind of car we use today, because now people race,

maybe go mudding, and make their cars more aerodynamic. The cars today have more accessories and larger engines, so it cost alot more.

Car prices begin at about $12,000 to $100,000.

…Today’s Fords Today, the average Ford would sell around $19,000 to around

$31,000. Also with our cars today, people can add parts to their car

which is called a body kit. Body kits attached to the car will increase the price of it. People who have gas powered cars often spend more money

than the people with electric cars. The electric cars today have to be charged with electricity. The reason why most electric cars are being bought is because gas prices have risen dramatically.
