Army

When Hendrix started playing his guitar his sound was more blues than the psychedelic rock you hear from his studio albums. His transition started when he joined the 101st Air Born division of the army which are called The Screaming Eagles. He joined the army to escape a jail sentence for stealing a car. He got off from serving his sentence by receiving a medical discharge when he broke his ankle. The cause of this was a miscalculated parachute jump.5After the army, he made his way to Nashville, Tennessee to join the Chitlin Circuit.Chitlin Circuit is a band that travels across America and the lower part of Canada. In the Chitlin Circuit he learned how to please a crowd.Chitlin CircuitFrom the Chitlin Circuit he learned all the tricks of the trade such as how to play the guitar with his teeth, play behind his head, and mainly, how to please a crowd6B.B KingBob DylanElvis PresleyJeff BeckEric ClaptonMusical Influences

Bob DylanTowards the end of his work in the Chitlin Circuit he heard one of Bob Dylans records. The character of Bob Dylans voice lead Jimi to start to think that maybe he could sing.

Chandler asked Hendrix if he needed work and said he could give him work if he moved to London. The only thing Hendrix wanted in return was to meet his guitar idols Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck8Hendrix evolved the pretty people look to suit the changing 70s.Hendrix achieved stardom by out showing Clapton on the guitar.

London Impact

When Hendrix arrived in London he changed his look to match all of the pretty people. They first achieved stardom in London after Hendrix went on stage with Clapton, the audience sat and stared in ament as Hendrix out shined Clapton on the guitar.9After going to London Hendrix held auditions for a bassist and a drummer. He found Noel Redding an experienced bass player. As well as Mitch Mitchell who was amazing on the drums.Forming The Experience

MitchellAfter a dramatic change in outfit he then held auditions for a bassist and drummer. He found Noel Redding an experienced bass player, and Mitch Mitchell who was amazing on the drums. They then called themselves The Jimi Hendrix Experience. 10Hendrix received attention in America from performing at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. People stared in amazement as Hendrix became the voodoo child by lighting his guitar on fire,

American ImpactThe Jimi Hendrix Experience got noticed in America from playing a performance at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival where Hendrix took a can of lighter fluid and a match and caught his guitar on fire. The reason why he did this was to outdo the previous act, The Who.
