Rosa Parks Biography

Rosa Parks was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February 4, 1913. Rosa Parks died on October 24, 2005 at the age of 92 at Detroit, Michigan, U.S.

Rosa Parks dad was James McCauley and her mom was Leona Edwards they were both carpenters and teachers. Her great grandfather was a Scottish - Irish man.

Rosa parks parents soon separated and when they separated Rosa Parks moved in with her mom at Pine Level, just outside Montgomery, Alabama and there she grew up on a farm with her maternal grand parents, mother, and younger brother Sylvester, and began her lifelong membership in the African melodist Episcopal church.

Rosa Parks bus boycott

On December 1, 1995 Montgomery, Alabama, Parks, age 42, refused to obey bus driver James Blake’s order that she had not given room for a white person. While her action was not the first of it’s kind of impact of the civil rights issue.
