Talking of TV, please look out for Oliver Gray-Nimmo (Y10) at Westminster Abbey this weekend. He will be in the congregation for the 'WW1 remembered' programme at 19:00 on Sunday 11 November. Oliver was invited because of his excellent performance in an international war poetry competition.

On Monday 5 November Harry Ayto and Ridouan Asselman attended Channel 4's live debate about Brexit. The event, held in Digbeth, allowed the Sixth Formers to see first-hand the unveiling of new survey results, as well as hearing the opinions of panellists Nigel Farage and Barry Gardiner. Both agreed it was a memorable experience.

    Lower Sixth Dance Club

Abigail Brugger (L6) is keen to set up a Dance Club for any interested L6 students. We will be communicating this on the Blog, through assemblies and the newsletter. If you are interested in a potential dance club on Thursdays after school please email [email protected]

    Doing the small things well

This half-term we are having a strong focus on doing the small things well. For example, we want all our students to show the maximum pride in the work they are producing. From ruling off, to underlining dates and titles, sticking sheets in, to aiming for the highest standards in all written work, we want to make sure all the small things are done well.

Nayan Bhatia (L6) presented a cheque in the sum of £1,004.17 to Macmillan Cancer Support this week. The funds raised from his recent 'head-shave'.

  • Art Star of the Week

Abbie Phelps L6V. Abbie has earned 'star of the week' for the second time this half term. She has worked through her art workshop, with passion and determination to do well. Her natural ability is excellent, and she is now pushing her skills and trying new techniques, working at an exceptional level with all of her work. Here she has produced a portrait of her brother, using phenomenal blending techniques with crayons to bring a beautiful innocence to the form.
