On March 19, 2018, CATS will be introducing several bus service improvements to coincide with the opening of the LYNX Blue Line Light Rail Extension. These improvements will assist you with direct connections and improved travel time. Please review the following maps and service descriptions to learn more.

• Beginning March 19 LYNX Blue Line will be extended from the LYNX 7th St station to UNC Charlotte Main Campus

• This includes an additional 9.3 miles of rail service with 11 new light rail stations

• The LYNX Blue Line will be adding an additional four new park and rides with 3,000 new parking spaces

• Service will operate 7 days a week from the LYNX I-485/South Blvd station to the LYNX UNC Charlotte Main station

• Trains will run every 7.5 minutes during the weekday rush hour and every 15 minutes during non-peak

• Weekend service will be 20 minutes during peak hours and 30 minutes during non-peak

• Train fare is the same as local bus fare $2.20• Passengers with a weekly or monthly pass can ride the

train at no additional cost • Ten-ride tickets are not valid on the LYNX Blue Line• Customers riding the bus and paying cash fare may ask

the bus operator for a transfer. The transfer is valid on the train as long as it is used within the time printed on the back.
