Charlie Baker Addresses Malden Chamber The second of the three candidates running for the governorship of Massachusetts addressed the Chamber of Commerce at our Business Breakfast, May 20th. The event, was well attended by persons of all political affiliations including Mayor Howard. Mr. Baker spoke about his concern regarding the long term viability of pension system for Massachusetts state employees. He also answered questions including a query about the upcoming casino bill. The Chamber presents speakers on subjects of interest to our members throughout the year. Since this is an election year, we have tried to enable our members to meet the candidates. State Treasurer Tim Cahill spoke at a Chamber Breakfast in January, and Governor Patrick has been invited to speak this fall. Senator Tisei, a favorite son from the Malden area is running for Lieutenant Governor, and attended the Breakfast.

Charlie Baker is flanked by his running mate, State Senator Richard Tisei at the Loyal Order of Moose, Malden.

All of the Committee members played a role at the event,. Serving as presenters, emcees, and escorts. Below, Board

members Angela DiGiacomo and Karen Nystrom escort Presi-dent’s Award winner Pat Morrow down the red carpet.

Starry Night in Malden On Thursday, June 10th, the Chamber once again recognized members of the Malden community who have gone “above and beyond”. The evening was a wonderful affair, due to our six distinguished awardees shown below.

Shining Star Awardees from left to right are; Alisa Carbone, Joe Crowley, John Webster, Pat Morrow, Jack Urbaczewski, and Joe Piantedosi. Even a confusing program couldn’t hold back intrepid emcees Jordan Shapiro and Ron Cox (below)

from putting on a great show.

Thanks to all of you who supported this event, by volunteering, sponsoring, and attending. And thanks to our

awardees for their service to our community.
