IATF 16949:2016 Foundation CourseThis course is designed to provide new implementation team members and representatives from key functional groups involved in the organization’s QMS with the necessary knowledge to support their organization in achieving compliance and for transitioning the organization’s quality management system to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016.

The latest ISO 9001:2015 revision was updated to adapt to a changing world, with emphasis on enhancing organizations’ abilities to satisfy its customers/stakeholders. This provides a consistent foundation for the future which reflects the increasingly complex environments in which organizations operate.

IATF 16949 fully supports these changes in ISO 9001:2015 with additional requirements that better meet automotive industry needs. Alignment with the ISO 9001:2015 structure makes it easier for organizations that need to implement more than one quality management system standard.

Course ObjectivesThe course is interactive in nature with emphasis on active involvement of participants in trainer-participant engagement, Q&A sessions, reflection exercises and assessment of understanding. At the end of the course, delegates will be able to;

■ Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the Quality Management Principles and which principles changed

■ Review the process approach and understand the increased emphasis on a process approach in the revised standards

■ Demonstrate an understanding of risk-based thinking and applications to define and manage risks and opportunities

■ Demonstrate an understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016

■ Apply specific clauses, relate the clauses to the intent of the standard and how it is linked by the process approach

■ Map key processes in relation to the requirements of IATF 16949:2016

■ Translate linkages to APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC and MSA
