Goals• Reconnect the community with the waterfront by providing a passive park that remediates environmental site conditions, restores native plant habitat and increases wildlife biodiversity.

• Coordinate design vocabulary with adjacent Bushwick Inlet Park parcels to create a cohesive plan which aligns with the vision of the 2009 Greenpoint Williamsburg Open Space Master Plan and allows for a connection to the future build out of Bushwick Inlet Park.

1. Shoreline Treatment:• CB Comment: Provide a softer, more naturalistic shoreline.

• Reduced amount of revetment.• Incorporated tidal wetlands along waterfront edge.• Varied shoreline geometries.• Provided additional planting at waterfront edge.

2. Waterfront Access:• CB Comment: Provide direct access to the water.

• Relocated a larger sand kayak launch to the center of the site off the main pathway.• Enlarged kayak launch and added stone boulder seating.• Incorporated ADA access directly down to the water.• Provided a pathway which brings users right along the waterfront’s edge.

3. Circulation:• CB Comment: Rethink pathways; softer, more naturalistic, fewer.

• Reduced the number of pathways and total quantity of hardscape.• Reconfigured pathway geometries to have smooth, sweeping curves.

4. Ecology:• CB Comment: Provide more ecologically immersive planting.

• Introduced tidal wetlands along the waterfront (low & high marsh planting).• Provided a planting palette with year-round seasonal interest.
