Luckily for local would-be buyers, help with all these questions and many more is now at hand.
The GVHBA is holding its highly popular, free annual Home Buyer Seminar on Wednesday, March 2, from 5pm to 8pm at SFU Harbour Centre in downtown Vancouver.
The event will kick off at 5pm with the Buyers’ Marketplace, which is your chance to meet industry companies, real estate services and home builders to get answers to some of your specifi c questions.
Then from 6pm to 7.30pm, the main seminar will tackle these topics:• Planning to buy a presale
condo? What are the benefits and considerations to investing in the presale stage?
• New homes: What are the benefits to purchasing a new home? What does the New Home Warranty cover?
• Legal documents: When and what should you be signing?
• Rates trending upwards: What is the best option? Variable or fixed?
• Home energy choices: Hard numbers and benefits for con-sideration.
• Strata councils: Living and working within the rules. What are your rights, resources and
responsibilities?• Market stats: Vancouver’s mar-
ket is hot! With multiple bid-ding, how does one work with a real estate agent to achieve one’s purchase goals? Where are the up-and-coming neigh-bourhoods?
The event will end with a Q&A session at 7.30pm, along with prize draws.

A sunny hilltop overlooking the mountains and rolling terrain is the site of developer Woodbridge
Properties’ latest boutique townhome community in Surrey’s Grandview Heights neighbourhood.

The homes’ Craftsman-style archi-tecture features characteristic steeply pitched roofl ines, mullioned windows, gable trusses, painted wood trim and shingled exteriors, with columns framing the entry doors.
Family-friendly, modern interiors feature an open concept that creates a warm and welcoming space, with 10-foot ceilings, built-in speakers and option-al fi replace in the main room.
