Sunday October 30
As noted in the recent newsletter, Rev. McAnsh is now the Interim Moderator for Binbrook & Carluke churches. Next Sunday, he needs to lead services at these churches and, in his place, Rev. Moe Anderson will be leading our service.
Congregational Meeting – Sunday October 23 A BEPC congregational meeting will be held immediately after the
service today. Purpose of the meeting is to approve funding, from
the Heritage Fund, to repair a section of the roof at the front of
the church. Session has provided approval to proceed with this
repair but congregational approval is required to use Heritage Fund
money to cover the costs.
ELDER ELECTION PROCESS
Some of the Elders, whose term will be up in March, 2017, are
electing to take a break. As such, we will be adding new Elders to
Session. If you have a suggestion as to who you think would make
a good Elder, please let Rev. McAnsh or Bob Dickison know by the
end of October. The actual Elder election will take place at the
March 2017 annual meeting.
This year we are planning to fill 50 (or more!!) boxes for Operation Christmas
Child. Boxes, together with the instruction brochure, can be picked up after
Worship Service during Fellowship Hour in Douglas Hall. Shoeboxes are
due back on Sunday, November 13th.
Contact Margo Polk at 905-634-8282 if you have any questions.
Prayer Group
Our face to face meetings have concluded as winter approaches and will resume in the Spring. Please continue to post your prayer requests in the boxes as they will be picked up weekly and distributed to the group.
Operation Christmas Child
Monday Social Club Food Drive Our annual food drive will continue through the
month of October. All donations of non-perishable
food items, during this month, will be given to our
own “Food For Life” program which we sponsor
every Monday. The Social Club will be donating food items each
Monday in place of collecting funds each week.
