WOOLARDS CUSTOM JEWELERS - 2014 SHOOTING STAR (1 - 10 Employees)Bobby and Caryl Woolard, Owners

STAR Sponsor: Citizens National Bank of TexasStarted 42 years ago

in an 8’ by 20’ store in Downtown Fort Worth, Woolards Custom Jewel-ers moved their new busi-ness to Burleson in 1979 and promptly joined the Burleson Chamber at the same time.

Bobby and Caryl Woolard purchased the store in 1993 from his par-ents. Today, their team of nine people offers 65 years of combined experience in jewelry sales, repair and custom design.

The Woolards’ busi-ness is still growing. They recently added 1100 square foot to their store,

doubling their size. They also recently purchased a 3-D printer. Wax forms that Bobby Woolard hand carved for 30 years are now created in multiple wax copies through this new printer. The high-tech machine “prints” wax casts for others in the industry, creates custom casts for a speci c user – such as a university – and allows the sale of custom design casts to other jewelers.

The number one goal of Bobby and Caryl Woolard is to treat their customer the way they want to be treated. They want their employees to

understand the difference between service and hos-pitality, for hospitality is to be on the customer’s side, to listen and to fol-low up with respect and concern. “We live by the “old values,” said Bobby, “and try to treat our cus-tomers and employees with respect.”

Woolards has long sup-ported numerous Burle-son charities, including the Floyd Walker Kids Christ-mas Fund, Heart for Kids, Support Our Soldiers, Cra-

zy8 Ministries, Hope for Autism, Relay for Life, the ATHENAs and many more.

Woolards Custom Jew-elers is also a long-time supporter of the Chamber. Of particular note is their role for seventeen years – since its inception – as the key organizers and -nancial supporters of the Honey Tour Bike Ride.

The Woolards especial-ly enjoy a partnership they share with Johnson County CASA. “Every child ad-opted in Johnson County

under the CASA umbrella receives a gift to com-memorate the date of their ‘new family,’” said Caryl Woolard. “Girls receive a charm bracelet with their special adoption date en-graved on a special charm, and boys receive the same engraving on a set of ster-ling dog tags.”

Woolards is consistent-ly named to the “Best of the Best” for their category as selected by the commu-nity in the Burleson Star’s annual community survey.

Amy Keefer-Womack with Citizens National Bank of Texas presents the Shooting Star Award to Bobby Woolard, Woolard’s Custom Jewelers.

PIT TO PALACE CLEANING - 2014 RISING STAR (In Business 3 Years or Less)Rachel House, Owner

STAR Sponsor: Justice IT Consulting

Pit to Palace, LLC is a pro-

fessional cleaning company that prides itself on quality services in-cluding maid service, of ce clean-ing, move-in/move-out service and construction cleaning. Pit to Palace is owned by Rachel House.

“Great Service; incredible job; a 5 star rating,” are just a few of the su-perlatives customers use to describe Pit to Palace. But their business model is to not only provide excel-lent service but to offer guaranteed results. Pit to Palace stands behind their work, offering to return and redo a job for free within 24 hours if a customer nds themselves un-happy or dissatis ed for any reason.

Pit to Palace opened their

doors for business in the summer of 2013, and in January of 2014 became members of the Burle-son Area Chamber of Commerce. Rachel volunteers as a Chamber Diplomat and volunteers at many Chamber events.

But Rachel also uses her area of expertise as more than a way to earn a living, but also as a means to give back to the community. Rachel has partnered with Meals on Wheels to provide free cleaning services to elderly and disabled clients who can no longer care for their homes and need a one-time service. She has also worked with Cleaning for a Reason, which sup-ports women diagnosed with can-cer and provides cleaning services to help women undergoing any form of cancer treatment.

As a start-up company, Rachel says this about running a small business: “My biggest challenge as a small business owner is dele-gation. Deciding what to delegate and what not to delegate can make

or break you. On the other hand, the most gratifying part of owning a small business is teaching my children that they can do anything they put their minds to. It may be hard… but anything is possible.”

IDEAL COLLISION REPAIR dba CAMBPBELL’S AUTO BODY & MOBILE GLASS2014 SHINING STAR AWARD (10 – 50 Employees)

STAR Sponsor: H-E-B Plus Sister and brother team Lee Ann

Avera and Allen Massey have oper-ated Ideal Collision Repair as Camp-bell’s Auto Body & Mobile Glass for nearly ten years. Their mission is to provide exceptional automotive col-lision and glass repair at competitive prices by a staff of professionals that take pride in their work and the com-pany they work for.

Lee Ann and Allen’s method to grow their business is tried and true. First, they retain repeat cus-tomers through quality and friendly service. They work to attract new customers by referrals and with uniquely designed discount pro-grams. Their methods are work-ing: they have been named to the Best of Burleson lists as published by the Burleson Star on numerous

occasions. This past spring, Camp-bell’s opened a second Burleson location to handle their growing business in our community.

Campbell’s active presence in the community is exempli ed by their membership in the Chamber since 2006. They are also active supporters of youth and school organizations. “If you can keep a child interested in extracurricular activities, not only do you help that child develop team building skills, work ethics, exercise and leadership skills, but they become future assets to our community,” says Lee Ann. Campbell’s sup-ports the Keith Gilbert Gridiron Scholarship Program and has do-nated thousands in scholarship funds to Burleson ISD graduates.

Lee Ann and Allen purchased the business from the local owner in

2006, with the corporate name of Ide-al Collision Repair, Inc. This is a nod to the gas station business of many

years of their father, the “Ideal Service Station” located in Ideal Georgia – the only “Ideal” city in that state!
