LITTLE SISTERS OF THE POOR NEED OUR HELPThe Little Sisters have dedicated themselves to serving and caring for the most vulnerable among us. Their home for the aged poor in Newark, DE has suffered many challenges during this Covid-19 pandemic. The Little Sisters have asked to visit our parish on Labor Day weekend to garner our support.

However, due to this coronavirus pandemic, they are unable to come here. Nevertheless, we will accept donations for them at all Masses on Labor Day weekend, Sept 5 & 6. Your fellow parishioners will be outside our church exit doors to accept your support for the Little Sisters of the Poor that weekend. Please consider donating to this dedicated group of nuns and support their work.

Need Mass Prayers and the Readings?Fellow parishioners and friends of St Dennis –If attending the Mass feels awkward without aworship aid that has the prayers and Readings, please stop by the vestibule table on entry toour church and ask for one of the missalettes. You may then place your name on it, make ityour own, take it home and bring it back withyou each time you attend Mass. However, ifyou should leave it in church, we will discard it.There is no charge for the missalette BUT if youshould wish to leave an offering, you may placeyour offering into the Offertory box in thevestibule.

MASS INTENTIONS There are still Masses available until the end of 2020 for your Mass special intentions. A Mass can be celebrated to remember a loved one, a special intention, a birthday, thanksgiving, or an anniversary. Contact the Parish Office to schedule a Mass. 2021 Mass Book now open.

“ I need your help”I’ve been recording Saturday evening Masses and uploading them to the St Dennis YouTube Channel. After weeks on tweaking both video and audio, I believe I’ve maxed the capabilities of the available equipment. In order to take the next step toward livestreaming, at a minimum I need three things, a Camcorder, a computer, and volunteers to help out with this ministry.

The Camcorder needs to have the capability of connecting a live feed into the computer, It would also need at least a 16x Optical Zoom. The computer, preferably a laptop, would need at minimum 16G Ram to run the software necessary to process the video feed and maintain video quality. Finally, the volunteers would need to be able to learn to operate the system. I’d like 3 to 4 reliable folks so no one feels over worked.

As you are aware, there is no budget available to purchase equipment, so I’m relying on your generosity. If you have a used Camcorder or laptop/computer, that might fit the bill, and you are willing to donate either, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, please consider volunteering to help out with this new ministry. This could be a very valuable ministry dedicated to serving our congregation.

Please contact Peg at the office or give me, Joe Maloney, a call at 410-708-5943.

Today’s Readings TWENTY-FIRST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

First Reading: Isaiah 22:19-23This passage refers to the use of authority and indicates the Key as the symbol of authority. The words “open” and “shut” refer to the power that will eventually be given to Peter.

Second Reading: Romans 11:33-36Paul writes ecstatic and praise-filled words about God’s plan for his people. In him, he writes, “all things are.”

Gospel: Matthew 16:13-20When Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter exclaims, “You are the Messiah!” Christ then declares that Peter is the “Rock” upon which he will build his Church, promising him the power “to bind” and “to loose.”
