Altas expectativas para el NORCECA Femenil Sub 20 MANAGUA, Nicaragua, August 20, 2012. - The

NORCECA Women's Junior Continental Championship

is set to begin on Tuesday at "Polideportivo España" in

Managua with nine teams to book three tickets to the

2013 FIVB World Championship.

High expectations looking forward to a sturdy battle

were the words of head coaches as they are ready for the

tournament.

Rosely Lewis (Antigua & Barbuda) "It is very exciting for

the team to be in our first continental championship. We

have a young team and our goal is to learn as much as

possible in a whole different experience."

Andrés Carvajal (Costa Rica) "A great number of our

players come from the U18 NORCECA Championship in

Mexico so they are young because we have the idea of

developing new talents for our future national teams.

Our objective is to finish first in our pool and to give a

good performance.

Wilfredo Robinson (Cuba) "Cuba presents a team

physical well developed with strong hitters. Our only

expectation, which we must fulfill, is the qualification."

Wagner Pacheco, (Dominican Republic) "My team is

young and most of it took the silver at the Women's U18

Continental Championship, we are confident in our

preparation with the goal set on a berth for the FIVB

World Championship."

Julio Dominguez (Guatemala) "The expectations are

clear and they're of motivation for our players; just to be

competing in a tournament of this category against

strong teams and superior to ours. My team began

together as youths and our first result was qualifying

here as a champion of the zone showing our evolution."

Estanislao Vacino (México) "We hope to perform as well

as we've been training and qualify for the World

Championship. The match against Guatemala is

accessible and as for Dominican Republic we have a

complicated advisory, we´ll do our best."

Claudia Noguera (Nicaragua) "We have the

responsibility to perform well not only because we're

hosts but because it's the first time that Nicaragua

competes in a continental championship of the category.

Our objective is to prepare the team for next year's

Central American Championship and move up in

NORCECA's ranking.

Ali Macsood (Trinidad & Tobago) "Four of our staring

players are playing internationally so that is the reason

we brought a very young team and we will be looking to

gain experience."

Rodney Wilde (United States) "Most of our players are

already in college and sadly couldn´t be here, so the

team is very young. We hope to have a great tournament

because we'll face strong teams like Dominican Republic,

Cuba and Mexico that want a spot in the World

Championship."

Julio Domínguez (Guatemala) "Las expectativas

son claras, son de motivación para todas las

jugadoras solo con participar en un torneo de esta

categoría midiéndose con equipos fuertes y

superiores al nuestro. Mi equipo viene desde la

categoría infantil siendo el primer resultado

haber clasificado como campeonas de la zona, mostrando nuestra evolución."

Estanislao Vacino (México) "Esperamos

desarrollar el juego que hemos entrenado para

clasificar en una de las tres plazas para el

Mundial. Tenemos un partido medianamente

accesible ante Guatemala y un rival complicado

como Dominicana, pero iremos juego a juego y

tratar de hacer lo mejor".

Claudia Noguera (Nicaragua) "Como país sede

nuestra responsabilidad es hacer un buen papel

además de que esta es la primera ocasión en que

una selección nicaragüense participa en un

torneo continental de esta categoría. Nuestro

objetivo es preparar al equipo para el torneo

centroamericano del próximo año y avanzar en el

ranking de la NORCECA."

Wagner Pacheco (República Dominicana) Estamos

con un equipo joven un que acaba de coronarse

subcampeón en México en el NORCECA U18 y

venimos por un cupo para el mundial de la

categoría el próximo año, estamos bien preparados.

extranjero y por esa razón traemos un equipo

El Campeonato Continental NORCECA

Femenil Sub 20 está listo para comenzar este

martes en el "Polideportivo España" de

Managua con nueve equipos que buscan

tres boletos al Campeonato Mundial 2013 de la FIVB.

Altas expectativas anticipando una fuerte

batalla fueron las palabras de los

entrenadores que ya están listos para el

torneo.

Rosely Lewis (Antigua & Barbuda) "Es muy

emocionante para todo el equipo estar en

nuestra primera participación en un torneo

de este nivel. Tenemos un equipo muy joven

y el objetivo es aprender lo más posible

en una experiencia totalmente diferente".

Andrés Carvajal (Costa Rica) "La mayoría de

jugadoras vienen del NORCECA Sub 18

en México, así que tenemos muchas jóvenes

con la idea de continuar buscando talentos

para el proceso de selecciones. Vamos a

pelear por el primer lugar del grupo y tratar

de dar la mejor presentación posible".

Wilfredo Robinson (Cuba) "Cuba presenta

un conjunto con buenas condiciones físicas y

con buen nivel de ataque. La única

expectativa que traemos y que debemos de

cumplir es la clasificación".

Rodney Wilde (Estados Unidos) "Tenemos

jugadoras jóvenes, las de más alto nivel

ya están en la universidad y lastimosamente

no pudieron venir. Esperamos un gran

torneo, puesto que enfrentaremos

equipos fuertes como República
