SEEKING CHRIST

Children’s Praise and Worship - Now through August, children K-5th Grade are to be dropped off at 9:30am in the old Fellowship Hall to begin their Sunday School hour. Children should be picked up from their regular classrooms at 11:00am. In July and August there will be no 11:00 K-5th Grade Sunday School classes, and we encourage your children to worship in church. Classes for Bethlehem Babies (birth through two years) and Little Lambs (three and four year olds) are still available all summer.

Wednesday Morning Women’s Bible Study - Starting June 20th join us from 9:30 to 11:30am to see how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple with Beth Moore’s study James: Mercy Triumphs. (Meeting in the Main Church. Childcare provided.)

Thursday Evening Women’s Bible Study - June 21st through August 23rd, from 7:00 to 9 :00pm. Let’s study Beth Moore’s Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent together! This study examines Psalms 120-134 which serve as a model for us to voice our petitions and praises to God.

Give A Gift to Your Relationship! Marriage Ministries and The Loft have teamed up to offer couples at our church a chance to begin or recharge your prayer life together. One of the hardest parts of praying together is getting started, so here is the offered solution: pick up a copy of Two Hearts Praying as One for only $7 before or after any service today, June 17th.

SERVICE FOR THE LORD’S DAY JUNE 17, 20123rd Sunday after Pentecost 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary

Welcome

Call to Worship: Psalm 63: 1-3

*Hymn: Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!  #138

Prayer of Confession: Eternal God, in every age You have raised up men and women to live and die in faith. Inspire us to take such journeys of faith. You call us to proclaim Your name; if we have been silent, fill our lips with Your praise. You call us to do what is just, even when justice feels complicated and difficult; so fill us with a commitment to do what is right, and a willingness to speak what is true. You call us to live faithfully, and to cast aside our fears; so fill us with Your love that casts out all fear. We confess that we have taken your call for granted or not responded whole-heartedly to Your will. Forgive us for our small thoughts and simple dreams. Through Your Holy Spirit, empower us on real journeys of hope and faith. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Offertory: Jesus Grant Me This I Pray by C. H. KitsonJesus grant me this I pray, ever in Thy heart to stay; let me evermore abide hidden in they wounded side.

If the evil one prepare, or the world a tempting snare, I am safe when I abide in Thy heart and wounded side. If the flesh, more dangerous still, tempt my soul to deeds of ill, naught I fear when I abide in Thy heart and

wounded side. Death will come one day to me; Jesu cast me not from Thee; dying let me still abide in Thy heart and wounded side.
